MMP Apocalypse in Arizona
Wednesday, August 19 - From Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ
MMP Apocalypse in Arizona is on the air! The crowd is on it's feet inside
Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ in anticipation of the PPV spectacular! Commentators Jerry
Wood and "All American" Ray Brewer are at ringside.
Wood: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to MMP Apocalypse in Arizona!
More than 50, 000 fans have packed Sun Devil Stadium in anticipation of tonight's mega event
which will feature four championship matches!
Brewer: That's right, Wood. Tonight will mark the beginning of High Society's downfall as my
man, the undefeated Virus Richards, goes one-on-one with MMP World Champion Aries.
Seven and zero, Wood. Tonight, my money's on eight and zero!
Wood: We will also see the new Universal Champion, a man who won the belt under some very
questionable circumstances, Jeremy Grieve defend against his arch-rival, The Ryno, in a Desert
Death Match.
Brewer: Well, this is going to be something new for Grieve. For most of his career he has been
a tag team wrestler. This will be the biggest match of his career. Ryno has fought under these
circumstances before. It should be interesting to see if Grieve can do the same.
Wood: And in a match that fans have been waiting to see ever since the dismantling of The
Posse in the old HWA, Midwestern Champion Tyrone Hughes takes on former allies Blitzkrieg
and The Ironman in a ladder match! The Television Title will also be decided as the man who
holds the belt, The Regulator, attempts to legitimize his claim on the championship as he faces
Lenny Shaw! GX will meet The Congregation somewhere in the Arizona desert! Hell's Fury
and The Gifted will meet in a Junkyard Match, and someone will wrestle his final match in the
MMP when Killa Blade meets "The Demented" xXx in a no disqualification affair! Let's go to
the ring for our opening contest!
Towel Match
DIAMOND KING (w/Killa
Blade) VS. BRICK STEVENS (w/Lenny Shaw)
The two men came to the ring to much different reactions from the crowd.
Brick and Lenny were solidly welcomed by the crowd, while the GX contingent was met with a
loud chorus of boos and even some debris from the audience. The two towel men, Killa Blade
and Lenny Shaw, were given their instructions by the referee and the match got under way. The
two men locked up, with Brick getting the immediate advantage by wrestling DK to the mat with
a side headlock takeover. DK countered into an armbar, and the two men exchanged a series
of elimentary holds that drug the match to an incredibly slow pace. Anticipating more from two
longtime rivals, the crowd began to chant "Boring!" to show their displeasure. Hearing this, DK
broke the reverse chinlock he had applied on Stevens, picked the man up, and nailed a
piledriver in the middle of the ring. With Stevens momentarily stunned, DK got on the mic and
announced that he agreed with the crowd, the match was boring and a waste of time. He then
motioned to the back and out came Virus Richards and Jamaal. Killa Blade joined the others,
and the four men began to pummel Brick in the middle of the ring. Lenny Shaw got in to try and
break up the attack, but the four-on-two advantage was too much for him to overcome. Jamaal
press slammed Lenny to the outside as Jamaal and Killa took turns nailing their finishing moves
on Stevens before allowing DK to apply the Lethal Injection!! With his partner in trouble and
three men standing guard in the ring, Shaw had no choice but to throw in the towel. DIAMOND KING WINS THE TOWEL MATCH. After
winning the match, DK released the hold, grabbed the towel, spit on it, and whipped it in Brick's
face before leaving the ring the victor.
Wood: Another win for Diamond King, in true GX fashion. These guys are
talented athletes. It would be interesting to see how they would fare in direct competition
without any outside help.
Brewer: Survival of the fittest, Wood. They do whatever it takes. Diamond King is a former
World Champion, so I'd suggest he's doing something right!
Wood: Be that as it may...I've just received word from the back that The Commish will be
making an appearance in this very ring later on tonight. I'm told he will have a special guest on
hand to make a major announcement regarding the next MMP supercard. Any ideas what that
could be?
Brewer: If I knew, I would tell you so we wouldn't have to put up with that guy coming out
here!
Wood: That's a fine attitude, Ray. Our next match is a three way dance featuring three of the
only four men to have held the HWA World Championship before that promotion folded back
in July. GX bodyguard Jamaal will be in the ring with the man who retired the title, The Masked
Lard, as well as one of Jamaal's opponents later on in the Bleeding Sun Death Match,
Masochrist. Let's go to the ring!
JAMAAL VS. MASOCHRIST VS. THE MASKED
LARD
Lard was introduced first, accompanied by manager Irwin Hinkle and
carrying the HWA World and Hardcore Championship belts. Masochrist was introduced and
came down the aisle wearing his version of the HWA Championship and announced that he
would not be competing in tonight's contest. He said that he had signed on to face Jamaal, but
had not agreed to face Lard. Masochrist went on to announce that he would face the winner of
the match on SNS to determine the true HWA World Champion. The crowd booed
passionately at the news, and an angered Irwin Hinkle demanded that the referee order
Masochrist to compete, but to no avail. As Maso turned to head back to the dressing room,
Jamaal and Diamond King (the other two men to have held the HWA belt) rushed down the
aisle and attacked the big man from Quincy, IL. The referee rang the bell to open the match
with only Lard and Hinkle in the ring. Super Cupid was nowhere to be found as DK and Jamaal
continued to hammer Masochrist into the ground. Virus Richards came out from the back with a
steel chair to make it a three-on-one situation. Meanwhile, in the ring, the referee was
administering a count on Jamaal. GX either didn't notice or didn't care, because the referee
reached ten and rang the bell again. THE MASKED LARD WINS BY
COUNTOUT. MMP officials came out to stop the GX assault, but it was
not until Lard came rumbling down the aisle to chase GX to the back that the men left the
scene.
Wood: What a shame! I was really looking forward to that match. It has
been a long time in coming.
Brewer: You should have known, Wood, that Masochrist would back out. That man is a
coward and always will be!
Wood: I must agree with him, however, that he never did agree to face The Masked Lard. I
think it was Jamaal that accepted the challenge on behalf of both of them.
Brewer: He still ran from a challenge. That still makes him a coward!
Wood: Our next match will pit two of the rising stars in the MMP going at each other for the first
time. West Law, a man who does hold a victory over an MMP World Champion, will step into
the ring to face Gabriel Knight. Both men have pledged to keep this one clean. Do you think
we will see that, Ray?
Brewer: No, I don't. Next question?
Wood: With that said, let's go to the ring!
WEST LAW VS. GABRIEL KNIGHT
Gabriel Knight came to the ring by himself, while West Law was joined by
his new manager Peaches and longtime tag team partner "The Demented" xXx. Shortly after the
opening bell rang, Soul Crusher came down to the ring. A known ally of Gabriel Knight, was he
there to help his friend, or simply to prevent any outside interference? The contest opened with
Law extending a handshake, which his opponent accepted in a gesture of sportsmanship. The
two men locked up. Law's power advantage was evident right from the start, powering his
smaller opponent to the mat and immediately hitting a big legdrop that rocked the head and neck
of Gabriel Knight. Not known for his technical expertise, Law stayed on the power attack
throughout the match.
With Law in control of the match, Knight demonstrated the techincal expertise that had earned
him the reputation as being one of the finest technicians in the business. He reversed a Law
fallaway slam into a sunset flip, but could only get a two count before Law got a shoulder up.
Knight, the lighter of the two, got back to his feet first and waited on his opponent who was met
with a superkick that rocked Law's jaw! Knight then took his attack to the air, landing a flying
elbow before making the cover. Again, Law got his shoulder up before the three, but it was
evident that Knight's attack was taking it's toll on the former World Tag Team Champion. Law
slowly got back to his feet and lunged at his opponent, but Knight saw the move coming and
pulled the referee in front of him to take the blow!
With the referee down, Soul Crusher tossed Knight an aluminum baseball bat! Knight wound
up, but before he could hit Law with it, xXx climbed in the ring and stole the bat away. Soul
Crusher then climbed in the ring, making it a four way brawl! xXx and Soul Crusher fought in
one corner, while Law and Knight fought in another, all with the official unconscious in the ring.
With Law stunned in the corner, Knight again picked up the bat. This time, he swung and nailed
Law right in the forehead! xXx and Soul Crusher spilled to the outside as Knight pulled his
opponent to the middle of the ring and nailed a Scorpion Death Drop!!! He made the cover, but
there was no referee to be found. Seeing the opportunity, Xenith Xavier came running down to
the ring with a hockey stick! He climbed to the top and dove off and nailed the blindsided
Knight, shattering the stick in the process! Xavier rolled Law on top of his opponent and
revived the official who turned to count the three. WEST LAW WINS BY
PINFALL. Soul Crusher dove into the ring, but it was too late. Xavier
pulled Law out and 7th House made it's way to the back victorious.
Wood: I guess you were right, Ray.
Brewer: Of course I was right, Wood. No one fights on their own anymore! This sport is
becoming a laughing stock with all the cheating that goes on!
Wood: I might point out, Ray, that you were one of the most notorious rulebreakers of your
era.
Brewer: Hey, I won, didn't I? Who's up next?
Wood: Our next contest will pit Machine Head against the mysterious Hooded Man #3 in a
weapons match. No one knows who this Hooded Man is, but we understand he has been in the
MMP for a long time. Perhaps we will find out tonight!
Weapons Match
MACHINE HEAD VS. HOODED MAN
#3
Machine Head was accompanied by fellow DH member Blitzkrieg for the
match, with the second carrying a large duffel bag. As his opponent was introduced, the lights in
the arena went out. After nearly a minute, the lights came back on with the sound of a bolt of
lightning and Hooded Man #3 was in the ring behind Machine Head! Blitzkrieg pointed this out
to his partner, but Machine was nailed in the head as he turned around with a carbon rod! The
Hooded Man advanced methodically on Blitz, who jumped down out of the ring as the bell rang
to open the match. With Machine on the mat, HM3 immediately took his attack to the air.
Wrapping a chain around his leg, he went to the top rope and nailed Machine with a flying
legdrop that opened a gash on Machine's forehead!
With HM3 in control, Machine reached into his bag of dirty tricks and kicked his opponent in
the groin to even the score. Blitz then reached into his duffel bag and tossed Machine a pair of
brass knuckles...before walking out of the arena! Machine looked back in uncertainty as his
partner walked out, but turned and pounded the winded HM3, using a hit and run approach and
staying in the blind spot of the masked wrestler. The man took numerous shots from Machine
Head with the brass knuckles but eventually buckled to his knees. Machine then climbed to the
top rope and jumped off with a flying fist shot, but HM3 saw it coming and turned the move into
a hurnacanrana! The referee checked to see if Machine wanted to continue as HM3 went out to
the floor.
This gave DH the opening they were looking for. With the official distracted, Blitzkrieg emerged
back from the stands! He grabbed HM3 on the outside and nailed the Creeping Death on the
floor! Then Blitzkrieg pulled a weapon out from his bag - a full size colour television! He waited
for HM3 to get back to his feet before shattering it over his head!!! Blitz ducked back into the
crowd as HM3 lay amongst a pile of television parts. Machine pulled his opponent back into
the ring and taunted his near unconscious adversary as he struggled to regain his footing. With
his opponent on the mat, Machine reached to the outside and grabbed a steel chair. As he
swung, HM3 turned and moved his head out of the weapon's path. Machine looked stunned as
he turned back to his opponent, who had pulled a weapon of his own out of his boot. As
Machine bent over to pick the man up, the masked man turned over and sprayed Machine in the
eyes with mace!! Machine dropped the chair and stumbled around the ring blindly for a few
moments before HM3 hoisted him up on his shoulders and nailed a Death Valley Driver on the
steel chair! Reaching deep to hook the leg, HM3 made the cover and got the pin. HOODED MAN #3 WINS BY PINFALL. The Hooded Man
got up slowly and methodically walked to the back as medical technicians came to the ring to
assist the temporarily blinded Machine Head.
Wood: Well, we still don't know who the mysterious Hooded Man is, but
we know that he is a very talented wrestler as he just scored a win over one of the top tag team
wrestlers in the world today.
Brewer: I'm wondering what's going on with DH. It didn't look like Machine Head expected
Blitzkrieg to walk out like that during the match. Perhaps that miscommunication contributed to
Machine Head's loss.
Wood: I must admit I'm surprised at the outcome of that match. It looked like Machine Head
had everything well under control until he got sprayed in the face. Let's just hope his injuries
aren't too serious. Our next contest will be a no disqualification match between two former
friends turned bitter enemies. Killa Blade of GX will face "The Demented" xXx of 7th House.
The loser will be gone from the MMP. Let's get to the action!
No Disqualification - Loser Leaves the MMP Match
KILLA
BLADE VS. "THE DEMENTED" xXx
Demented xXx came out to a loud ovation with manager Peaches. The fans
were obviously intrigued by the possibility of seeing a member of GX getting tossed out of the
MMP. Killa Blade was louldy booed as he came out with longtime ally Diamond King for the
all-important match. Killa started off trying to take the match to the air, but xXx was able to
frustrate him by using a series of simple takedowns to keep the fight on the mat. xXx had an
obvious psychological advantage early in the match, blocking Killa's attempted offense and using
it against him. Out of desperation, Killa went for a superkick, but xXx ducked the blow and
used a legdrag takedown to run Killa into the mat before applying a figure-four
leglock.
With Killa struggling, DK jumped into the ring and pulled him to the ropes to break the hold.
The referee turned to admonish King for his interference, Killa took the advantage by jabbing
xXx with a thumb in the eyes. Killa was now able to take to the air without hinderence, hitting
xXx with a tornado DDT followed by a frog splash! Killa made the cover, but only got two.
After criticizing the referee for making a slow count, Killa went back on the attack, stealing a
page from xXx's partner West Law's playbook by applying a bow and arrow submission hold
on his opponent. xXx screamed in pain as Peaches shouted encouragement from the outside.
After a few moments, Killa broke the hold and walked over to berate his former manager.
Peaches lept up on the apron and became engaged in a full scale argument with her former
client. Killa gave her a little shove before she slapped him hard accross the face. The fans
cheered as the stunned Killa turned and walked right into a rejuvenated xXx.
xXx was a house of fire, tearing into Killa with amazing ferocity. He nailed Killa with a tornado
DDT of his own before nailing a flying legdrop. The referee counted, but just as he was about to
reach three, Killa edged his shoulder off the mat. Seeing his friend in trouble, DK picked up a
steel chair and climbed up on the apron, distracting the referee. xXx wouldn't have any part of
it. He came over to break up the conversation and nailed DK with a solid right hand that
staggered him off the apron! DK, furious, got back up on the apron as Killa got back to his feet
behind xXx. DK swung the chair, but xXx ducked and the blow caught Killa right between the
eyes!!! Xenith Xavier came running down the aisle and pulled DK off the apron as xXx turned
and made the cover for the three count. "THE DEMENTED" xXx WINS BY
PINFALL. xXx, Xavier, and Peaches walked out in celebration, taunting
GX in the ring. An angry DK paced around the ring as Killa stumbled back to his feet.
Enraged, Killa got right in DK's face. The two nearly came to blows, but Jamaal came down to
break up the argument. DK and Jamaal walked out together and Killa followed slowly behind,
obviously disturbed by the fact that he would never again wrestle in the MMP.
Wood: A huge blow against GX! Killa Blade was one of the first guys in
the group, and now he's gone!
Brewer: I think they're better off. Killa Blade just wasn't getting it done. If he can't beat
Demented xXx, he probably doesn't belong in the MMP!!!
Wood: Our next match will be the first of our four title matches here tonight. Lenny Shaw will
defend the belt he doesn't have in his possession against the undefeated Regulator. Let's go to
the ring!
MMP Television Championship Match
LENNY SHAW (C)
VS. THE REGULATOR
The challenger was introduced first, carrying the belt he had stolen the
previous week on SNS. He was also carrying his baseball bat "Loui Slugger" and wearing his
traditional badger mask. Lenny Shaw came down to a mixed ovation and was wearing his
homemade, yet accurate, championship belt. The smaller Regulator went on the attack right
from the start, using a series of clotheslines and kneelifts to keep Shaw on the mat. Regulator
then varied his attack, using a variety of suplexes to keep Shaw on the defensive throughout the
early part of the match. The vaunted rulebreaker the shifted his gameplan, using some
weardown and submission holds to keep the pressure on the defending champion while taking a
breather himself. These moves were definitely taking their toll on Shaw, who was having trouble
staying in the match. Going for the win, Regulator applied a figure four leglock on the hurting
titleholder. This move nearly won the match for him, but Shaw was able to muster up enough
strength to reach the ropes. The referee administered the count on Regulator, who waited until
four before releasing the hold. As the referee checked in on Shaw to see if he could continue,
Regulator delivered a kneelift into the official's back, sending him to the floor!! With the ref
down, Regulator went over to his corner and picked up Loui Slugger. As Shaw got to his feet,
Regulator swung and caught Shaw square in the face!!! With Shaw unconscious, Regulator
went outside to revive the official, explaining that someone had run in from the crowd to attack
the man in stripes. The referee seemed to accept the explanation as he stepped back between
the ropes. With Shaw still out, Regulator applied his new finisher, a submission hold known as
The Pinch! The referee asked Shaw if he wanted to continue, and when the champion could not
answer, the referee called for the bell. THE REGULATOR WINS THE
TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP BY KNOCKOUT. Regulator initially
refused to break the hold, but did so when threatened with disqualification. He pulled off his
mask and grabbed his bat and belt as he walked out, leaving the referee to try and revive Shaw
in the ring.
Wood: One title match and one new champion. Could this be the sign of
things to come?
Brewer: How would I know? Regulator owned that match, but Shaw just plain looked
outmatched. I don't think he was prepared for that contest.
Wood: We now send you via satellite to the local dump here in Tempe. Family members
Psychotic Sam and Mike the Giant Retard, known collectively as The Gifted, will take on Soul
Crusher and Diablo from Hell's Fury. Hell's Fury has been on a roll as of late. We can only
wait and see if that trend is going to continue.
Junkyard Match
THE GIFTED VS. HELL'S
FURY
The scene shifts from the arena to a trash pile on the outskirts of the town.
Soul Crusher and Diablo stood waiting with their opponent's nowhere to be found. Suddenly, a
dump truck came rolling in and ran over Hell's Fury's motorcycles and knocking Soul Crusher
back into a pile of garbage! Mr. Beaumont was behind the wheel, and Sam, Mike, and Havoc
jumped out off the back. It was a four on two advantage for a few moments, until a police
cruiser arrived on the scene. Three officers rushed out of the car and wrestled Havoc and Mr.
Beaumont to the ground. The two men were then placed in restraints and tossed in the back of
the police car before being driven away. With Soul Crusher still feeling the effect of being hit
with a dump truck, Sam and Mike were free to double team Diablo. Grabbing the giant by the
head, Sam rubbed his face into a pile of soiled diapers!
Soul Crusher got back to his feet and came up on Mike from behind with a tire iron. Mike took
the blow to the head and fell in a heep on a pile of food scraps. Now it was Hell's Fury's turn to
do some double teaming, working over Sam with a discarded kitchen sink and an old wooden
chair. As the attack continued, Mike came buzzing around the corner with a wheelbarrow. He
rammed Diablo in the back of the legs, causing the seven-footer to fall backwards as Mike
carried him away. The match was going back and forth, with both teams taking the opportunity
to double team opponents and work over their adversaries with any weapons they could find.
After double teaming Soul Crusher for a few moments, Sam and Mike looked ready to finish the
match. Sam nailed the Psychotic Smash before allowing Mike to apply the Buzz Killer on his
smaller opponent. The referee checked with Soul Crusher, but the German would not give up.
Soon, Diablo came back into the action, but was carrying Marbels!!! When Sam saw this,
Diablo grabbed Marbels around it's neck and tore the head off!!! Sam flew into an angry rage,
unable to control his actions. When he passed near Diablo, the massive man picked up the
relatively tiny Sam and nailed a vicious brainbuster suplex! He stuffed Marbels' decapitated
head into Sam's mouth before covering him for the pin. HELL'S FURY
WINS BY PINFALL. Mike fell in a pile, weeping over Marbels' body.
After a few moments, Sam got up and began attacking both Mike and the referee! About ten
minutes later, some men from the local mental institution arrived to straight-jacket Sam and take
him away.
Wood: Hell's Fury continues their winning ways with an impressive win in
the Junkyard match.
Brewer: I'm wondering what those cops wanted with Havoc and Beaumont. Maybe Beaumont
held up a liquor store.
Wood: Nonetheless, it seems that Sam has been taken away for observation. That truly was a
vicious match.
Brewer: I can't imagine getting my faced rubbed in a soiled diaper!
Wood: It's now time for the Pot Head Rules match. Pot Head will face The Pimp in this very
unique setup. In an interesting side note, it was announced a couple of days after the match was
signed that Pot Head and The Pimp were slated to face each other in the first round of the Call
for All competition, in which Pot Head was victorious. Let's go to the ring!
Pot Head Rules Match
POT HEAD VS. THE
PIMP
Immediately, the lights in the arena went out. Prodigy's "Firestarter" played
as MMP rookie The Pyro made his way to the ring. He demanded the microphone, and went
on to introduce The Pimp, accompanied by Bambi. The lights came back on as Pot Head was
introduced, accompanied by Orion and an unknown doctor. Pot Head announced that, just to
prove how hardcore he can be, he will contest the match clean, that he is not under the influence
of narcotics. The doctor confirmed that Pot had taken a blood test to prove this fact. Pot was
wearing spiked shoes, as well as spiked knee and elbow pads. As Pimp and his entourage
conferred in the corner, Pot took the early advantage by dropkicking the larger Pimp in the
knees with the spiked cleats. As Pimp rolled over in pain, Pot climbed to the top rope and dove
off with a flying elbowdrop!!! The spikes opened up small wounds in Pimp's chest. Pot
covered him and got a quick three count. Pot Head wins the first fall.
With his friend in trouble, Pyro jumped in the ring and clotheslined Pot with a steel chair. Not
willing to allow a double team, Orion got in to defend his occasional tag team partner, turning
this into a two on two affair. Pyro and Orion battled in the ring as Pimp and Pot spilled to the
floor. Pimp picked up the chair that Pyro had used earlier and swung it at Pot, but missed and
bent the chair around the ring post. Pot took advantage by turning and delivering an
elbowsmash again into Pimp's chest, opening up some more small punctures and sending Pimp
to the floor. With Pot in control, the fans about ringside spread apart. Someone was
rollerblading rapidly through the audience towards the ring. It was the returning Wasted Youth!
He hopped the guardrail and drove Pot Head face first into the ringpost! The momentum behind
Youth rammed Pot hard, knocking him nearly unconscious. Youth continued on his way to the
dressing room as Pimp seized the opportunity, mounting himself on Pot Head and peppering him
with brass knuckles. After landing ten shots to the forehead, Pimp summoned the referee and
made the cover on the arena floor. The official counted to three, and Pimp had evened the
score at one fall apiece.
After a lengthy period of back and forth action during which each man scored a fall, the clock
became a factor. The time limit was nearing the one hour mark with the score tied at two and
neither man in control of the back and forth contest. Orion and Pyro had been separated,
although the two fought throughout most of the match. With the action back in the ring, Bambi
became animated on the outside cheering on her man. The doctor, who had accompanied Pot
Head to the ring, made his way around the ring behind Bambi. She didn't see him coming, and
when she grabbed the middle rope to pull herself up on the apron, he took out a set of handcuffs
and chained her to the ring! Pyro came around to confront the man, but he was met with a
spray of mace in the face from Orion! Pimp came over to help his second, and was able to
back Orion off. But this was all part of the plan. As Orion kept Pimp's attention distracted, the
doctor reached under the ring and took out a lead pipe, which he used to crack over Pimp's
skull! Pulling off his doctor's mask, the man revealed his identity as Bionic Pipe!!! He tossed
Pimp back in the ring before joining Orion in pummeling Pyro. With his opponent bordering on
unconsciousness, Pot Head applied the Pot Leaf!!! When Pimp was unable to answer the
referee, the official called for the bell, awarding the final fall to Pot Head! POT
HEAD WINS THE MATCH 3 FALLS TO 2. Bionic Pipe and Pot Head
embraced in the ring, before facing the camera and confessing that Pot Head was indeed
wrestling under the influence. The three DH members walked out celebrating, leaving Pimp and
Pyro on their stomachs and Bambi cuffed to the ropes.
Wood: What a ruse pulled off by Pot Head! I think Pimp thought he would
have the advantage in manpower for that match, but DH proved him wrong!
Brewer: In a match like that, you have to be prepared for anything. Pimp wasn't, and he lost.
It's as simple as that.
Wood: We have received an update on the situation between Havoc, Mr. Beaumont, and the
local law enforcement. It seems that the two men have been arrested in connection with a
robbery that went down earlier today in a neighbouring town. I understand that this means that
Mike the Giant Retard will be replacing Havoc in the tag team tournament this weekend. What
this means for the future of The Family, however, remains to be seen. It's now time for the
second of four title matches. It will be a three way ladder match, pitting Midwestern Champion
Tyrone Hughes against former allies Blitzkrieg and The Ironman. Let's go to the ring!
MMP Midwestern Championship - Ladder Match
TYRONE
HUGHES (C) VS. BLITZKRIEG VS. THE IRONMAN
Both Hughes and Ironman came to the ring alone, as is their tradition,
whereas Blitzkrieg was joined by his No Remorse tag team partner Machine Head. What was
anticipated to be a classic title match turned into an all out war against the champion right from
the very start. Hughes immediately attacked Blitzkrieg with the ladder, but Ironman jumped in to
make the save and began to double team Hughes with Blitz. After a lengthy double team, Blitz
slumped back in a corner to catch a breather, leaving Ironman to hammer on the weakened
champion. After a few moments, Blitz got back into the action, as he and Ironman used the
ladder to destroy the back of the champion. It appeared, however, that the men had used the
ladder too many times as one of the hinges had broken off. Ironman set the ladder in the middle
of the ring to test it's stability. In a surprising move, Blitz encouraged Ironman to climb the
ladder and claim the championship for himself. Ironman looked stunned, but agreed and made
his way up the metal rungs. At the halfway point, Blitz showed his true intentions and hit
Ironman with a shot below the belt that sent Ironman off the ladder, over the top rope, and hard
onto the floor. This also proved to be too much for the ladder, as the latch on the other side
also broke off, making it impossible to use. With Hughes still lying in the middle of the ring,
Machine Head went under the ring and pulled out another ladder, which he immediately passed
in to his tag team partner. With both of his opponents out of the picture, Blitz stood the ladder in
the ring and slowly made his way to the top. Just before reaching the top, Blitz stopped to spit
on both of his opponents before making the final lunge and grabbing the belt. BLITZKRIEG WINS THE MIDWESTERN CHAMPIONSHIP. Blitz and Machine each picked up a ladder and slammed it on Hughes before the
two men made their exit.
Wood: We're now two for two! Blitzkrieg has won his second
championship in the MMP!
Brewer: Those two definitely played Hughes for the sucker. He never had a chance in that
match!
Wood: Our next match will take place somewhere in the Arizona desert. Both the Congregation
and GX are being escorted there as we speak where they will meet in a Bleeding Sun Death
Match, which we understand will be a steel cage match. I believe we have established the
satellite feed, so let's take you to the action!
Bleeding Sun Death Match
DIAMOND KING & JAMAAL
VS. THE CONGREGATION
The scene shifts to an open area in the Arizona desert. Nothing can be seen
for miles except the highway and the wrestling ring enclosed in a steel cage. The two cars pulled
up, and the four combatants got out. Before they could even get in the ring, the two factions
were going at each other, brawling in the sand and slamming each other's heads into the steel.
The referee opened the door to the cage and instructed the four men inside. The action did not
slow down once in the ring. Jamaal and Masochrist paired off, as did Cupid and DK. Cupid
got the advantage on DK with a blatant low blow and used the advantage to remove the
cornerpads from all four turnbuckles.
With DK still down, Cupid jumped Jamaal from behind, allowing Masochrist to take off one of
his boots. Cupid held the big man while Maso took two shots at the bodyguard. As Jamaal fell
to the mat, Maso turned his boot upside down and dumped a pile of dirt on Jamaal's face. DK
got back to his feet and, pulling a chain out of his boot, took down Cupid with a hard right hand.
Masochrist, however, grabbed the leader of GX around the throat and delivered a devastating
chokeslam that rocked the former World Champion. This time, it was Masochrist's turn to go
into his boot, pulling out a pair of handcuffs which he used to chain DK to the wall of the cage,
allowing Maso and Cupid to double team Jamaal.
Suddenly, the trunk of GX's car popped open. Out climbed Carl Donovan, carrying a pair of
bolt cutters! Cupid and Maso had their backs turned as Donovan came up to the cage and cut
DK free from his restraints. Donovan then cut the chain on the door, letting himself into the
match. As he stood in the middle of the ring, all four men in the match brawled in the northwest
corner of the ring. Maso pushed DK back toward the center of the ring, where Donovan nailed
him with the bolt cutters, knocking him out cold!!! Stunned, Maso stared Donovan down in the
middle of the ring. Donovan took two steps back as Maso covered DK for the pin. THE CONGREGATION WINS BY PINFALL. Maso then
turned back and joined Cupid in the assault on Jamaal, before Donovan came over and
knocked all three men out with the potent weapon. He then walked out of the cage and hitched
a ride on the side of the road. The Congregation got back to their feet and climbed out of the
ring. They slashed GX's tires before getting back in the MMP car and driving away.
Wood: We are back here in the arena now after that gruelling tag team war.
A big win for The Congregation, pushing the score to 1-1 in matches between those two teams.
We understand that The Commish is now going to make an appearance, with some kind of
announcement to make in regards to the next MMP supercard.
Special Interview
THE MMP COMMISH
MMP reporter Steve Lewin is in the ring as the Commish makes his way to
the ring.
Lewin: Welcome to Apocalypse in Arizona, Commish. I understand you
have a major announcement for the fans and wrestlers alike about a major upcoming event here
in the MMP.
Commish: That's right, Steve. A few weeks ago, I made the announcement that the MMP
would be holding a supercard on Tuesday, September 8 - MMP Best of the Best, live from
Madison Square Garden in New York City. But I only gave you half the story at that time.
Allow me to introduce at this time the man who will give you the other half of the story, the
Commissioner of the Global Wrestling Federation, Mr. Eddie Centura!
Commissioner Centura makes his way to the ring, wearing an unknown
championship belt. It is made from white snakeskin and is plated with 24 karat gold. The large
plate in the middle is studded with diamonds in the form of the logos of both the MMP and
GWF.
Lewin: Welcome to Tempe, Mr. Centura.
Centura: Thank you, Steve. I'm short on time, so I'm going to get right to the point. When
Commish said he only told you half of the story, he was right on the money. For you see, it will
not be MMP Best of the Best on September 8. It will be MMP/GWF Best of the Best, the first
ever interpromotional card between our two organizations. It will truly be the biggest night the
sport has ever seen!
Commish: I know a lot of people must be wondering what this belt around Mr. Centura's waist
represents. This belt will be awarded on September 8 to the first ever MMP/GWF Grand
Champion! Four of the top contenders from both companies will compete in a single elimination
tournament to be held that night, with the winner being awarded this beautiful belt. The winner
of the Call for All competition will be awarded one of the four MMP spots. The men to
compete in the other three spots will be announced on SNS this week. If any of the MMP
superstars want to participate in this, well, you know how to contact me.
Lewin: What else can we look forward to that night?
Commish: Well, we will also see all five of the current MMP titles defended. We all know that
the winners of the current tag team tournament have been promised a no-disqualification title
shot, and they will get just that at Best of the Best. Plus, Mr. Centura and I are in negotiations to
possibly hold a battle royal between superstars from both the MMP and GWF. It should be a
night to remember!
Lewin: It should indeed! Thank you, Commish and thank you, Mr. Centura for your time this
evening. Let's send it back to Jerry Wood at ringside!
The three men in the ring exit as Commish holds up the new championship belt
for all to see. The new title receives a standing ovation from the crowd.
Wood: What a blockbuster announcement! In a little under three weeks, a
new championship will be awarded here in the MMP!
Brewer: Plus MMP fans will get their first look at some of the talent from the GWF. I'm really
looking forward to this!
Wood: It's now time for our double main event. It's time for the Desert Death Match. Let's go
to the ring!
MMP Universal Championship - Desert Death Match
JEREMY GRIEVE
(C) VS. THE RYNO
The ring modifications were nearly complete as the challenger was
introduced. Ryno inspected the ring, which now featured cacti as ring posts and barbed wire for
ring ropes, as well as a large crate of live scorpions in the middle of the ring. He had come
prepared, placing a baseball bat in his corner. Jeremy Grieve, joined by Dangerous Dave, came
to the ring carrying a large sack, as well as a "Jeremy's J-Team" t-shirt. Standing outside the
ring, Grieve tossed the shirt in Ryno's face, and the High Society members used the advantage to
jump in the ring and immediately double team the challenger for the Universal Championship.
Fortunately, Ryno was able to crawl over to his corner and grab his bat, which he used to chase
Dave out of the ring before facing off with Grieve for the first time since Grieve turned on him a
back in July.
Ryno did not hesitate, cracking the bat accross Grieve's kneecaps and sending him hard to the
mat. With his opponent down, Ryno used his bare hands to detach some barbed wire from the
cacti ringpost. He wrapped the wire around his bat and lunged after Grieve, but Dave was able
to pull him out of the ring away from Ryno's wrath. As the two men conferred on the outside,
Ryno kept up with the action, pulling some more wire from the post, this time wrapping it around
his own legs. In an unbelievable move, Ryno dove over the top rope and hurnacanrana'd Grieve
up against the announce table - with barbed wire on his legs!!!! Ryno celebrated his move, but
did not see Dangerous Dave coming around the ring with a lead pipe, which he used to slam
Ryno in the head and send him to the ground. With Ryno injured, Dave helped a bloody Grieve
back to his feet and tossed him back in the ring. He delivered a pair of swift kicks to Ryno's
back before sending him back into the contest.
By this point, both Grieve and Ryno were running on fumes. The two bloodied athletes
staggered back to their feet and met up in the middle of the ring, exchanging rights and lefts to
the point where both men were almost out on their feet. Then Grieve made a very costly
mistake. With Ryno teetering on the brink, Grieve shouted something at Ryno questioning
Kellye's loyalty to the big man. This sent Ryno over the edge. Blocking out the pain, Ryno tore
into Grieve with unbelievable ferocity. Grieve was reduced to a bloody shell of himself, and
Ryno showed no signs of giving up. After knocking Grieve to the mat, Ryno picked the
champion back up and delivered a Ryno Charge against the cacti ringpost! Then Ryno
introduced one of the most devastating moves the wrestling business had ever seen. He calls it
the Ryno Horn - a torture rack back breaker into a Death Valley Driver! Grieve's neck bent
almost 90 degrees backward, rendering Grieve utterly helpless. Ryno then made it official,
dropping Grieve into the pit of scorpions. The ref counted to ten and rang the bell. THE RYNO WINS THE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
The crowd errupted as the bloody Ryno hoisted the Universal Championship belt high for all to
see. He celebrated with the fans all the way to the dressing room as EMTs came out to assist
Grieve.
Wood: That could be the most hardcore match I've ever seen! Both men
gave it their all, but Ryno definitely deserves that belt. Congratulations, Ryno!
Brewer: Yeah, Ryno turned in a good performance, but I'm just waiting to see the big one
coming up next. The World Championship against the undefeated record. Let's go,
Virus!
Wood: Now that Ray has offered his unbiased analysis of the main event, let's go to our ring
announcer for the introductions.
MMP World Championship Match
ARIES (C) VS. VIRUS
RICHARDS
Two of the most prominent stables in the MMP were front and center for the
main event of Apocalypse in Arizona. The challenger was introduced first, joined by Diamond
King, bodyguard Jamaal, and GX manager Sudan Stan. Aries, the defending champion, was
joined by the leader of High Society, Mr. Marvellous. Aries had an obvious size and power
advantage over his undefeated challenger, and he exploited that difference right from the start of
the match. Virus charged the bigger man right from the opening bell, but Aries demonstrated his
power immediately, gorilla pressing Virus over the top rope into his GX cohorts.
Suddenly, the lights in the arena went out. When they came back on, members of Disposable
Heroes had taken a seat at ringside to observe the main event. This distracted Aries for only a
brief moment, but it was long enough for Virus to get back in the ring and take the champion
down with a German release suplex. Virus immediately put the boots to the champ before
changing his attack to a submission style attack. Virus then showed his diversity, shifting to an
arial approach on the worn down giant from Athens, Greece. GX and Disposable Heroes soon
found themselves eye to eye at ringside. Mr. Universe then came out to join his tag team partner
Marvellous at ringside, and all three stables were in each other's faces.
Feeling he had Aries ready to be beaten, Virus rolled out of the ring and attacked Pot Head
from behind. This was the straw that broke the horse's back, as soon all the men on the outside
were involved in a three-way brawl. Just as quickly as he had joined in, Virus rolled back in the
ring and continued his match. Nailing a springboard moonsault, Virus made the cover, but the
referee's attention had been diverted, along with another group of MMP officials, by the brawl
on the outside of the ring between GX, DH, and High Society. With everything going on, Pot
Head snuck away from the fight and climbed into the ring behind Virus. As the challenger stood
up, Pot Head (still wearing his metal baseball cleats) delivered a super kick right to his face that
opened up a gash on his forehead. Pot Head rolled back out as Aries got back to his feet. The
champ grabbed the referee and pulled him back to the action, just moments before pulling Virus
back to his feet. Looking out to the fans, Aries hoisted the challenger in the air and nailed the
Godly Drop!!! DK saw what was happening and dove into the ring, but it was too late. Aries
scored the one, two, three. ARIES WINS BY PINFALL.
Aries grabbed his belt as the Cosmic Connection joined him in the aisle on the way back to the
dressing room. GX and DH continued to battle with Virus lying beaten in the ring as the screen
fades to black.
