Today's other game was us against Tet 3. Before the game there was much talk about it being canceled because the gym teacher didn't allow 2 games in one day. In the end however, the show had to go on. We were sure of our victory, as you've probably noticed, Tet 3 are not the best team (to put it softly). If you ask me, the players (remember, I'm coach) were a little to confident and maybe this resulted in the bad game.
The first half was controlled by us. Nadav looked very dangerous, hitting the post once, having the goalie save another great shot and missing the target a couple of times. In my opinion, he shot a little too much. Our defense was solid as usual. Dima and Barak were impassible and Tet 3 didn't get close to Felix in our goal. We couldn't score and it was a very nervous team that got ready for the second half.
At half time Dima Chertnik came in for Ofer. He didn't cause much change and the 2nd half was very much like the first. Nadav came close a couple of times and hit the post once. Ofer went in for Barak to try to add some punch to the offense. Chertnik then got a wonderful pass from Nadava against the empty net, but he blew his shot wide. 3 minutes from time Nadav got another ball near midfield. He passed two defenders and against the goalie didn't fail. 1-0. I sent Ehud in for Chertnik to try to help the defense. In injury time, Nadav and Ehud broke away for a 2-on-1. Nadav had the ball on the right wing. If he would have passed, Ehud would have been alone against the goalie. But, he didn't pass and he lost the ball. On the counter-attack Aviad got the ball alone against Felix and he shot with the outer part of his shoe. If it was on target I don't know what Felix would have done. Luckily, it went wide and that was that. We had barely won and almost caused ourselves serious embarrassment. But, we are 1st place and that is very important going into the last round.
