Tet 1 vs. Tet 2

Tet 1 vs. Tet 2 (0-0)

Game recap

Today (22.1.98) my class, whom I am the coach of, (tet 2) played against tet1. They were heavy favorites to win, as they posess good players such as Genia Rozov, Sharon Yerachmiel (don't try to pronounce that if you don't know Hebrew) and a first-class goalie, Ron Okni. The game was shifted to the college field (when I say field I mean asphalt 24 x 17 meters, approx.) because the 8th graders had a tournament at the school field (a little smaller). The halves were 8 minutes long instead of 10 because we had a late start (10:15).

The game was not very exciting and we played very defensively because we knew that Tet 1 are a lot more fast and athletic than us. In the 4th minute they had their best chance; Genia gave a curving shot, but Felix (very good!) managed to save it. Until the half, they had more possession, but we had a couple corners and Nadav managed to get by players. He didn't shoot well and the chances were wasted.

The 2nd half was very similar. They had possession but only got one clear-cut chance when Felix made another good save from Genia. Later, we got lucky a couple of times when their players slipped or made silly mistakes on offense. Dima Rudaev got a chance for a volley, but he missed the ball. In the end, a fair result, even though Tet 1 are the better side.

Our Lineup:
Gk: Felix Lanis; Made some very good saves
D: Dima Rudaev; Tried a little to hard to dribble past players, but always corrected his mistakes.
D: Barak Koren; Played very well, even though he got a nasty knock on the head from Genia.
M: Ofer Fenek; Ran a lot. He wen't from offense to defense too much and wasted energy. However, when he got the ball, he was very effective.
M: Dima Chertnik; Played very well on defense. Offensively, couldn't get any of his usually very hard shots off.
A: Nadav Rankanpur; Played well on offense. Dribbled by players many times but didn't shoot enough. He and Chertnik need to work on their co-operation with each other.
Our next game is next Thursday (29.1.98) against Tet 5. They are considered the best in the 9th grade.
