MFL's 15th Annual "Thanksgiving Classic" Game

November 26, 2005 at 12:30pm EST at Veterans Memorial Field

11th ANNUAL "THANKSGIVING CLASSIC" PREVIEW
(FROM 1999)
On November 27, 1999 at 1pm MFL will hold its 11th Annual "Thanksgiving Classic game. This year's event will feature a first, adding the mystique of the game. This isn't the first time the "Thanksgiving Classic" will feature a MFL first. In the very first "Thanksgiving Classic", MFL played its first night game. This year will feature a 5 on 5 contest, which is attributed to the growth of MFL over the last 5 years. The game will be played at MFL Veterans Memorial Field. On a side note, Alternative Field in Keyleres has been retired. It was the host to many memorable games and will be missed.

Not only will this game be the first 5 on 5 game in MFL history, but also the game will be the first event broadcast over the Internet the week following the event. During the course of the game pictures will be taken and another first the game will be video taped. The footage will be used or video clips on the webpage, which will hopefully be up during the month of December or early January. Right now 8 players are guaranteed , there's that word again, to play. Steve Gelatko will try to build on his impressive showing from the last game, where he made his debut at Quarterback. He showed that he has a strong and accurate arm and is a force to contend with. Opposing him at the Quarterback spot will be Jason McGlone, 2-time winner of the Mario Award for best quarterback of the year. Receivers that will play are Chris Perhonitch, 2 time rank Kline Player of the Year winner, his brother Nick Perhonitch, Mike Bielen, Tim Matula making his second game here at MFL, possibly Mario Dercole who is a game time decision after dislocating his shoulder during the last MFL game, and Nathan DeBalko.

The other two players will meet for the very first time this year Nick Yatsula and Adam Yelito. The feud of the year in MFL and they have not even played a game against eachother yet until Saturday. The bad blood dates back to an incident regarding the now dissolved mWo and the MFL webpage. Adam put some harsh comments on his Unofficial MFL Homepage, and the guestbook war was on. This battle has been raging since March and is set to explode on the field for the first time. The current set up of the game is still unclear at this time; either it will be two games up to 100 or one long game until 200. It will be a game time decision. Check back during the early evening on Saturday to find out the results of the game and the Killer Lite Player of the Game. See you on the Field.

12th ANNUAL "THANKSGIVING CLASSIC" GAME
EXHIBITION GAME 1 PLAYED ON 11/25/00 FINAL SCORE: 98-91

Both team fought off the cold weather and snow covered playing conditions at this year's "Thanksgiving Classic" Game. Unfortunately, Jason McGlone quit after a controversial pass interference call between him and Mike Bielen. At the time Jason McGlone quit, the  team of Tim Matula, Brian Oaks, Steve Pollack, and Jason McGlone were  leading 98-91 over the team of Steve Gelatko, Mike Bielen, Mark Koldesko, and Jonathan Jadush. Both teams moved the ball well on offense, due to the slippery field conditions, and came up with big defensive stops to keep the game close. Since the game was not completed, no records or stats will count towards the individual standings this year. Another "Thanksgiving Classic" in the books and now the countdown to the next year's game begins.
