Week 9

League News

Only four weeks left in the regular season.  Remember, there are four weeks left, but only 6 games because the last two will be pro only.

Time to start thinking about rules that you'd like changed for next year.  I know the restriction that you couldn't drop someone you just picked up caught almost everyone this year.  I'd like to discourage kicker & defense swapping; that was the solution I came up with.  If anyone has a better idea or something else they'd like reviewed, let me know.

Clinched playoff spot

Sassy Boyz splits with Tigers (126/90 to 61/101)

The Auburn Tigers' (10-9) showed their strength in the pro game while the Sassy Boyz (10-9) flexed their muscle on the college side.  Both teams are on the edge of falling out of the playoffs and need to continue winning. Box Score

Valpariso Chili Peppers split with Mighty Midgets (84/94 to 89/66)

The Peppers (10-9) have played two of the weaker teams the past two weeks but can not gain ground on the teams ahead of them.  The Midgets (7-12) are still mathematically alive, but need a lot of things to fall their way.   Box Score

Bunnies crawl all over Canadians (80/62 to 75/46)

The Canadians (6-13) were hampered by an untimely bye-week by the pros.  The Bunnies (7-12) put together a strong collegiate effort.  Both teams are just about out of the playoff chase.   Box Score

Pirates rob Outlaws (131/98 to 109/84)

The Outlaws (5-14) put together a good college effort but were unable to overcome the record-setting effort of the Pirates' (17-2) Travis Prentice.  The Outlaws are all but eliminated from the playoffs while the Pirates clinched a berth.  Box Score

Collegians split with One Nation (77/93 to 134/87)

The Career Collegians (11-8) are holding onto their lead in the Eastern Division, while One Nation (13-6) is trying to chase down the Jungle Pirates for the regular-season title. Box Score

Killer Bs overrun the Republic (115/90 to 77/89)

The Killer Bs (13-6) scored a solid college effort and barely squeaked by on the pro side.  The Republic (5-14) are just about eliminated while the Bs are chasing the Pirates for the Central title. Box Score
