League News

PRO GAME ON THURSDAY!!  Baltimore plays KC Thursday, so those of you with players on either team need to let me know if they are starting or not by kickoff.  The rest of your players can wait until Sunday.

I had to make an executive decision on the U.Miami-Temple game.  Normally, an injured player doesn't get replaced, but since this would affect two whole teams (as opposed to players), I decided to come up with something.  As it turned out, it didn't affect wins or losses, but I would have made the same decision regardless.  The solution I came up with was to look at last week's starting lineups and pick the highest scorer from that week that wasn't started this week to replace the Miami players.  Confusing, but it was the fairest thing I could come up with.

What an absolutely pathetic weekend for the pros.  The average pro score was 58, a whole 17 points lower than the average for the season.  I've added a records page to chronicle some of the outstanding, pathetic and sublime accomplishments that occur in this league.  If you get a chance to look at it, great.  Otherwise, I just threw it in to add a little substance.  Any other records you think I should track, let me know.

My new address is caelon@cfl.rr.com, but this is really only for personal correspondance.  League mail should continue to go to ctgffl@yahoo.com so that I can access it wherever I am.

Tigers sweep Midgets (103/77 to 61/44)

Since a 1-6 start, the Auburn Tigers (7-6) have swept the past three weeks to vault into first.  The Tigers have the league's most prolific pro team.  The Mighty Midgets (6-7) have fallen from first place and now must try to regroup for the second half of the season.  Box Score

Canadians and Killer Bs exchange losses (97/107 to 130/46)

The Killer Bs (9-4) had a very balanced college attack and a very balanced pro non-attack.  The Canadians (5-8) were able to take advantage of the opportunity and picked up a split.  The Killer Bs solidify their hold on second place in the Central while the Canadians pull within a game of a wild card spot. Box Score

Sassy Boyz not so sassy against Fluffy Bunnies (156/51 to 63/67)

The Sassy Boyz (7-6) had double-digit scorers in every position in college while disappearing on the pro end.  The Bunnies (4-9) were able to piece together enough pro points to pull off the split.  The Sassy Boyz remain a game back while the Bunnies keep their head above water, for now.  Box Score

One Nation records a split with Outlaws (206/39 to 126/72)

Two records were set by One Nation (8-5) on the college side of the ball with Brees' 51 point day and 3 other 40 point efforts.  The Outlaws (4-9) put together a good pro effort and pulled off the split.  One Nation remains one game in the lead while the Outlaws are still within reach of a playoff spot.  Box Score

Collegians sweep across the Republic (125/64 to 103/33)

The Career Collegians (6-7) lived up to their name and put together a solid collegiate effort while putting together enough pro points to outscore a mutant pro outing by the Republic (4-9).  Enough bad things happened to the Republic's pro offense that they only had 4 players score.  In the tight East, the Collegians are a game out while the Republic is only three games out.  Box Score

Jungle Pirates creep by Peppers (107/63 to 79/59)

The Pirates' (12-1) mammoth college backfield produced another solid effort to push past the Peppers (6-7). The pro side was still stagnant and remains a weak spot.  The Pirates remain in first in the Central while the Chili Peppers will try to gain ground next week with the two divison leaders squaring off.  Box Score
