Week 5

League News

I apologize for the change in style.  I changed computers and lost the style I was using originally.  I can probably recreate it, but it will take time.  Until then, I'll stick with functional over flashy.

I will be changing ISPs this week, so start using ctgffl@yahoo.com as the address for me.  When I get my new address, I'll let you know, but this new league address should be the main one for league correspondance anyway.  Its main aspect is that I can retrieve the mail anywhere.

Nothing else for this week.  On to the games...

Don

Tigers sweep Collegians (121/94 to 75/53)

The Auburn Tigers (5-6) made up for the missing Washington offense with a player from the explosive St. Louis offense.  The Career Collegians (4-7) were overmatched with both teams turning in a below-average effort.  The sweep caused the teams to swap places in the Eastern division.  Box Score

Peppers evade sweep by Killer Bs (58/78 to 85/77)

Bret Favre's last-second heroics saved not only the Packers but also the Valpariso Chili Peppers (6-5).  Killer Bs' (8-3) pro wide receivers dropped the ball and allowed the Peppers to sneak by.  The split allowed both teams to remain in their places in the Central division. Box Score

Outlaws narrowly miss sweep of Fluffy Bunnies (102/66 to 66/69)

Eric Moulds got no help from his skill position partners in pushing the Outlaws (3-8) past the Bunnies (3-8)  in the pro game.  On the college side, Applewhite and Dayne could not carry the whole team against the onslaught of the Outlaws.  Both teams remain in the bottom of the Western Division.  Box Score

One Nation slugs it out with Sassy Boyz (149/88 to 135/105)

In what will be typical of the season race, One Nation (7-4) and Sassy Boyz (6-5) brought their 'A' games last weekend.  The 477 total points is the most scored so far this season.  The split leaves One Nation on top in the West with Sassy Boyz one game back.  Box Score

Texas Republic splits with Mighty Midgets (108/68 to 70/78)

Randle El and Burress of the Republic (4-7) Lead the Republic past the Mighty Midgets on the college side.  On the pro side, Marino's strong performance in a comeback propelled the Midgets by.   The split leaves the Midgets on top in the East, but the gap is quickly closing.  Box Score

Jungle Pirates resume winning ways against Canadians (134/57 to 77/49)

With Monday being the Canadian Thanksgiving, the Pirates (10-1) tried to go easy on the Candians (4-7), but they were not up to the task.  If the Pirates do not shore up the anemic play of the pro side, the losses will start to occur regularly. Box Score
