Week 4

Last modified 10/5 2:12 pm EST

League News

This week begins the three-week run of division games.  These next three weeks could go a long way towards establishing division order and, ultimately, playoff position.  Good luck!!

If you'll notice in the transactions, both Vinny Testaverde and Jamal Anderson have been picked up.  These owners are sacrificing the roster spot so that they may pick these players up at a good Draft Value and retain their rights for many years.  This may be something to watch for in the future, especially if Mighty Midgets decides not to hold onto Terrell.

I'm sure you've noticed the different format I'm using for this week.  Let me know if you like this or not.  It is more work for me, so on weeks that I have less time, I may revert back to the old way, but if enough people like this format, I'll try to keep it like this.

Don

Tigers sweep Peppers (102/111 to 99/56)

The Auburn Tigers (3-6) rode Morgan Kane and the explosive Redskin offense to their first sweep of the season.  The Valpariso Chili Peppers (5-4) were hampered by a weak showing by the pro skill players while falling just short in the college game.  The sweep places both teams in third place in their respective divisions.  Box Score

Career Collegians swarmed by Killer Bs (140/44 to 151/74)

Strong performances by Doug Johnson and Shaun Alexander were not enough to propel the Collegians (4-5) over the Killer Bs (7-2) in the college matchup.  Steve Young's injury hurt the pro score for the Collegians.  The sweep places both teams in second place in their respective divisions.  Box Score

Mighty Midgets trample Fluffy Bunnies (109/83 to 81/53)

Dayne's strong effort was wasted as he got no help from his Bunny teammates and Trent Dilfer led the charge (probably the last time I'll say that) as the Mighty Midgets (5-4) swept the Fluffy Bunnies (2-7).  The sweep propels the Mighty Midgets into first place in the Eastern division while the Bunnies are battling in the Western basement.  Box Score

Crusher Canadians avoid sweep by Sassy Boyz (52/69 to 108/62)

Randy Moss' re-emergence helped the Canadians (4-5) pro team capture a win while the college team pulled a disappering act against the Boyz (5-4).  The Boyz remain in second place in the West while the Canadians bring up the rear in the Central.  Box Score

Texas Republic splits with Outlaws (106/86 to 89/100)

Randle El of the Republic (3-6) set a CTGFFL record with 50 points and pushed the Outlaws (2-7) into a split.  The Outlaws used a balanced attack to win the pro game.  Both teams are tied for last in their respective divisions.  Box Score

One Nation hands Jungle Pirates first loss (45/76 to 139/66)

This rematch of last year's championship game prodcued a split.  Drew Brees got little support from his Nation (6-3) while major question marks still appear on the Pirates' (8-1) pro roster.  Both teams are in first in their respective divisions.
