CHICAGO BULLS vs L.A. LAKERS
Most everyone recognized Jordan as the best player the game had to ofer
and it was just a matter of time until he got his ring. This was the season
he finally got fitted for his prize, as the Bulls beat Magic Johnson's Lakers
in five games.
"When I came here," Jordan said afterward,"we started from scratch. Every year, we got closer. I always had faith I'd get this ring one day."
Jordan averaged 31.2 point and 8.3 assists in the series.
So what does the Finals MVP do after winning his first championship? He firmly hugs his precious trophy, leans his forehead against it and cries.
"I never thought I'd be this emotional," said Jordan, tears in his eyes nearly an hour after the game. "I've never been this emotional in public."
His Airness received plenty of support in the title-clinching Game 5, won before a stunned crowd in the L.A. Forum. Pippen poured in 32 points while John Paxson Scored 10 of Chicago's final 15 points and finished with 20.
