[7-1-04] - Interesting... - I haven't seen the movie yet. Quite frankly, the movie might be good but Michael Moore annoys the hell out of me. The way he grandstands and runs around throwing this stuff in everyone's face is just obnoxious. Yes, you have the right to state your opinion, good or bad, about the governement if you want. And you can make a movie about it & have things to back up your claims...great. But when you have all of that out there, and yet, you still constantly shove it down everyone's throat every chance you get, you turn people off. You can't force people to think a certain way. He tries too damn hard to push everyone into believing the same things he does. Supposedly (I haven't seen it yet), he edits things to spin together a tale that best suits him, whether it is true or not. You could make a movie about anyone to make them look bad. That's fine. Just quit trying to hype it so much. This guy just wants attention and it's pathetic.
The Passion of The Christ
[2-16-04] - Controversy - Mel Gibson decides to make a movie about the final hours of Jesus and it has caused a whirlwind of controversy. First off, I'm not a heavily religious person so I can't really make too many educated comments. It's a sensitive topic. But to bash a guy for making a film that is his opinion on how things happened is kind of messed up. They say he is anti-semitic. They say the movie is too bloody & gory. They say a lot of things. Maybe it is bloody but when someone is being tortured and killed, it isn't some kind of tea party. It's just amazing because all of this debating is going to drive people to the theaters to see it even more just so they know what everyone is talking about.
