Corretja attack wide of mark
I read where Alex had a go at
Lleyton after the match and questioned his behaviour, but I can't imagine
Lleyton doing anything wrong to Alex and having a go at him.
What people need to realise before
they condemn him is that Lleyton is different on court to most players. He
gets fired up and that's what makes him so good.
But he's not having a go at his
opponent.
From what I have been told about
the match in Lisbon, Lleyton's comments were made to himself
and if he gets excited its only
because he's pumped up.
With the Davis Cup final against
Spain in Barcelona this week, the Lisbon match was a good opportunity for Alex
to get a bit back from Lleyton because he'd lost their previous two
encounters.
Maybe Alex said a few things to
plant a bit of doubt before the final.
But the last thing that anyone
should do to Lleyton is to upset him because it will only make him that much
more determined next time. It's not something that I would recommend anyone
trying to get away with.
The bottom line is that Lleyton is
a great bloke and whatever anyone says about him, its all water off a duck's
back. He won't give it a second thought - other than becoming more determined.
We've all been following Lleyton's
progress from the training camp in Marbella where we have worked really hard
in the two weeks we have been here.
A typical day has seen us work
hard on drills in the morning and play sets in the afternoon.
One of the best things to come out
of the camp has been the form of Richard Fromberg.
Frommy has been hitting the ball
great and he will be a good back-up if something happens to myself or Lleyton.
We all know its going to be tough
against Spain, but we have a good team spirit and will be ready to go
after a few more days in Barcelona.
