This Sunday our boys return to the Darlington Intercontinental Speedway. That's right, it's another short track, which means anything can happen. But anything hasn't happened the last four times NASCAR has raced here. Only one thing has happened: Jeff Gordon won the race. This Sunday he goes for his fifth straight Darlington victory, a mark that would be a new NASCAR record.

Gordon's got more reasons than setting a record for winning the race. If he can put together a whole bunch of great finishes, and DJ puts together a whole bunch of Carolina Panthers-esque outings, then Gordon could be at the top of the points come the end of the season. Texas Thunder, who's in third place right now, has never finished a season strong. Gordon's not the only man thinking about the cup. Martin and Labonte are still in this thing, and they're going to be racing just as hard as Gordon.

Again let me hit you with what you already know: Stewart is due for a win. This race is a No Bull race, so the guys who finished in the top 5 at Daytona (Jarrett, Labonte, Martin, Stewart, & someone else) are each contenders for the million-dollar bonus for winning the race.

The best thing about short track races is that you see names in the top 10 that you don't normally see. Last week Terry Labonte was right there ('til you know what happened), Jimmy Spencer came in second, and Ricky Rudd came in third. You just don't know who's going to be left after all the wrecking that happens on a short track. And Darlington, dubbed "The Track Too Tough to Tame," is infamous for reaching up and biting cars (I think you can plan on hearing Joe use this very excuse). So don't even think about going with your usual "Jarrett, Martin, Labonte, Gordon, Burton" picks. You're going to have to do some serious thinking for this one.

Instructions

First of all, choose your name from the pull-down list. Then pick the names of the drivers that you think will finish in the top five. After that, you get to make your surprise pick, where you'll name a guy who isn't high in the points, but you think has a shot to get into this week's top five. It doesn't have to be one of the names you've already put in your top five. Now that the season is in full swing, let's use the current Winston Cup Points standings. Click here to check out the nicely done standings page at nascar.com. Remember, your surprise pick can't be any of the names listed in the TOP TEN of the points standings.

And hey, don't forget to pick a DNF. That's the guy you think will get a big fat Did Not Finish.

Click on the upside-down triangle at the right margin of each blank to see a list of drivers, then select a name. No typing necessary. Don't forget to tell me your name!

Is Earnhardt the biggest jerk ever? What should've happened to him for his antics last week? Was NASCAR right not to penalize him?
