The comments: you guys kill me
I saw exactly one lap of what turned out to be the boringest race of 1999. After some fun stuff early on where Bill Elliott (the man I told y'all to watch out for this week -- am I prescient or what?) led for a while, Dale Jarrett took over and bored everyone for 147 laps. No wrecks, no cautions, only one stinking DNF in the whole race. Man am I glad I missed that one.
I hear Jeff Gordon was making a run towards the end of the race, and I'm sure everyone was thrilled to see Texas Thunder continue his incredible streak of leading at least one lap in all but one race this year. Nascar.com had an article comparing Terry's 1996 Winston Cup Championship year to Bobby's year so far. At this point in 1996, Texas Terry had pretty much the same record.
Tony Stewart was 9th or something, which is still great for a rookie. Martin was 10th, which for him is not so great. He's still right there in the points, but he better not fall off the pace now. I also told y'all to watch out for Steve Park, and he turned in a sixth place finish. Not wanting to be outshined by Joey Joe Joe, Irvan got a seventh place finish out of the M&M's Pontiac.
Last week I asked y'all to predict who would win the NBA championship, and I asked you to try to tie it in to NASCAR. Your comments killed me. I was rolling all over the place (the twelve cups of coffee helped with that). I'm not going to quote from any of them because they were all great. If you haven't done it yet, click here to check out the wacky comments. Way to go, y'all.
The numbers were solid this week, with Will, Nathan, and Sharon leading the pack with 50 points each. I had one of my worst weeks ever, but I'm not about points.

Nathan got closer to Sean, Tim caught up to Chris, and it looks like Sharon's getting ready to take third place from me. Otherwise there weren't any position changes. I didn't recalculate the average points per start this week because I'm really lazy.
