Simona Mocanu's Biography

Simona Mocanu was born in 1980. Her home club is CSS Brasov &
she was coached by Mariana Bitang. To date she's Mariana's only
gymnasts to make the national team. Her time on the national team was
very short, from about 1992-1994 & her best result was a bronze on
beam at the 1994 European Youth Olympic Days. Unfortunatly, Simona
was forced to retire early in her career due to injuries. Last anyone heard,
she was practicing figure skating & was working on her double axel &
planning to compete at the National Figure Skating Championships,
however it's doubtful she's still pursuing skating these days.
