So Why do I like Evander?

Big Shoes To Fill

Well with Tyson off to prison for a while, I wasn't sure who would be the heir to the division. Riddick Bowe had the title so maybe he would be the dominator. Bowe didn't want to fight Lewis so he gave up the one of the titles and things got all confusing again. Tyson had worked so hard to unify them and Bowe screwed it up. Then Holyfield beat Bowe in a wild fight and regained the title. Their fight was another classic batle that even featured a parachutist jumping into the ring. Bowe was did have talent to dominate, but at times it seemed he wasn't interested in boxing at all. Holyfield then lost the title to Moorer. (I didn't get the chance to see the Holyfield Moorer fight, but I assume it was a good one if it was determined by decision. Holyfield was rumored to be ill before this fight and afterward he was diagnosed with a heart condition.) Holyfield fought Riddick Bowe again in the third (and most likely the final) chapter of their fights together. (I didn't see this fight but Holyfield looked terrible in the post-fight pictures. This was the first time he was knocked out too.) My interest in the sport of boxing dropped even further since no one was really taking a hold of the division so I just waited for 'Iron' Mike to get out of prison. There was really no one in my mind that could fill the shoes of Tyson.
