  • Ever wonder why prostitutes are sometimes called hookers? Thomas Hooker, the founder of Connecticut used to buy women for his soldiers' enjoyment. They used to call them Hooker's women, but then shortened it to hookers. I got this great piece of information from my great friend Nicole.


  • The mad hatter got his name in more of a historical way than you might think. People used to use mercury to polish top hats a long time ago. Mercury, as they did not know back then, makes people go crazy after a while of subjection to its fumes


  • Welfare checks come out the first week of the month. Coincedently, I think not, the first week of the month is usually the busiest for stores who have layaway departments
