LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO . . . The United Hockey League announced today that Flint Generals? left wing Bobby Reynolds has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Missouri River Otters? goaltender Brian Regan has been named UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November 21, 1999. They were also named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending October 17 and were named Sher-Wood Player of the Month and UHL Goaltender of the Month for October.
Reynolds finished the week with eight points (5-3) and a +8 rating in two games against Asheville. On Friday, he had four goals including the game winner and two shorthanded tallies in a :56 span and was a +5, as the Generals defeated the Smoke, 6-4. The 32-year-old Flint, MI native added four points including a shorthanded goal and three assists on Saturday as Flint lost, 6-5 in a shootout. On the season, Reynolds is second in the UHL with 19 assists and 29 points. He is tied for the League lead with three shorthanded goals and a +16 rating.
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Adirondack right wing Alexei Yegorov, B.C. right wing Chris Grenville, Madison center Matt Loen, Missouri defenseman Jeremy Rebek, Mohawk Valley left wing Andre Payette, Muskegon left wing Andrew Luciuk, Quad City right wing Kevin Kerr and Rockford right wing Sheldon Gorski.
Regan finished the week with a 2-0-0 record, a 0.50 GAA and a .984 save percentage. In his first game of the week, Friday against Fort Wayne, he turned away 24 of 25 shots in a 3-1 River Otters win. Against the Komets on Saturday, Regan earned his third shutout of the season, tying a UHL expansion record. The 24-year-old native of New Milford, CT stopped 36 shots en route to the 4-0 win. Regan leads the UHL in wins (9), GAA (1.60), save percentage (.942) and shutouts (3).
