Twelve teams will qualify for the Colonial Cup Playoffs. The three division winners will be the top three seeds based on points. The remaining nine teams will be seeded four through twelve based on points. The three division winners and the team with the highest point total among non-division winners will receive a first round bye. The first round is best-of-three and all other rounds are best-of-seven. The winners of the Preliminary Round series will be reseeded based on regular season points. Teams will again be reseeded following the Quarter-Final and Semi-Final Rounds.
Following is the pairings for the first three rounds:
