Simon, Davison go in CBA draft, but neither expected to play there
Former Arizona players Miles Simon and Bennett Davison were drafted by Continental Basketball Association teams Tuesday, but neither will likely play in the league.
Simon, drafted in the third round by Connecticut, is a second-round pick of the Orlando Magic. He said yesterday he is optimistic about his chances to make the NBA team and had no interest in the CBA, even if the NBA lockout continues.
"If anything, I'd go overseas,'' he said.
Davison, picked in the sixth round by Grand Rapids, is already making $150,000 playing for a professional club in Istanbul, Turkey.
Ex-ASU guard Jeremy Veal was taken by Rockford in the second round as the 12th pick overall.
