The Grid-Iron Ghost $F$

This is the Madden 2000 version of my "2-Dog Blitz" play that I posted last year for Madden '99 on the board. If it ain't broke don't fix it I always say!

4-3 Blood 2K

Last year, the BLOOD play was one of the more popular defenses on the board. This is the 2000 revamped version of that same play.

I came up with this one and was surprised how sometimes the MLB was almost UNBLOCKED and had a clear shot at the QB! Doesn't happen ALL the time but frequently enough (more so than the 4-3 BLOOD). You guy's try this one out and let me know what you think.

This play is designed to stuff the run and knock the teeth out of running backs. It also is pretty good at stopping the short pass too.

Alright, I know what your thinking, that doesn't look like a special teams play! It is, I promise. This should only be used for FG/Punt attempts. First shift the line, second pull your Cb to directly between Dt's about 2 feet behind line. If it is a punt pull your Fs back to receive, in case you don't block it. When the ball is snapped become Cb and Blitz like a mad dog. Try this in a practice or exhibition game a few times first. Remember this will probably get burned if used in any other way! Try not to rough the kicker, You might break his little leg!

Both of these D's are basically my attempt at creating the U.F.O. D used by the Browns.

Let me know what you think. Post it or E-mail me.

Note: Press the shift button repeatidly before the snap. Like the Cleveland Browns do when they run a play like this.

Beware deep up the middle is danger zone. I'm sure one of you created play wizards could fix this problem.

Bearcats

Really, this play is easily adaptable to any defensive formation, and it works well against the run because the safeties really hamper the off-tackle efforts. I'm sure it's nothing new as a concept, though. Just a way to get the safeties involved a lot. Have to have good coverage corners in case they decide to go deep.

This just came about from trying to get my linebackers more tackles, more hits on the ballcarrier, in man defense. It seems like everybody is always either blocked, or they can't make the tackle until some 174 pound corner comes in and kills the ballcarrier. Control the inside linebacker, back up a smidge. Follow the ballcarrier and kerplow! As long as you're not standing in the middle of the field after the snap, the center won't be able to tie you up.

Basically, a more user friendly version of NB Quickblitz(Play Posted by Sam)

Instructions: Shift the Line, place the MLB between the two DTs, switch to anyone and watch the show. Optional extras: You can call bump and run, to bring the SS up to help with the run, and/or move the offending LB back out to the flank.

Remenber to switch players after you've moved someone, to allow the CPU to take over. Cool blitz play.

Sam

Pitbull: Zone/ROLB blitz. Shift the line until the LILB lines up to the right. Take the ROLB and line him up between the RE and DT. This is designed to hold the receivers long enough for the ROLB to hit the QB. However, as with any play, given enough time, the QB will find someone open so crush him fast.
