Note! Alexei Urmanov was the first Russian to become Olympic Champion and the youngest Champ for 48 years. Since becoming Olympic Champion he has had problems forfilling the promise he showed, only at Europeans in 1997 and the free skate in 1995 he showed his true potential in competitions that matter. Worlds don´t seem to be his lucky star. In the penultimate season he lead going into the free, but had to re-draw due to injury, an injury that kept him out for the whole of last season. On the ice Urmanov is known for his classical style, however he has tried something new of late which has gone down well with the crowd(Techno). His presentation is unique and his jumps are of real quality when landed.
