Note! When he first won the European Championships at his first attempt, many experts agreed: This skater could become the best of all time. However a couple of years went by until he fully forfilled this huge talent of his. He became Olympic Champion with the best free-skate since Boitano in 1988. Kulik has been known for his inconsistancy which has cost him many placements on the podium, but last year he finally got it all together.
He says that it has alot to do with the training possibilities in the USA, unlike many of his fellow russians, he chose to go to the USA for better conditions, and he himself says that this fact has been an important factor for his success. Kulik is probably the most natural skater the world has ever seen, his style on the ice is unique, and his jumps, when landed, are awesome. His presentation is improving, but still many people think that his expression is too cold and emotionless.
