ISU
The ISU will not sanction the last pro-am events this season. This means that the eligible skaters (Kwan, Kulik, Eldredge etc...) will not be apple to skate in these events without losing their eligibility, either they stay away, or give up their olympic eligibility.Source is Anna Fluegges Russian Figure Skating Please go there for more news.

Fusar-Poli/Magaglio
The italian couple of Margarita Fusar-Poli and Maurizio Margaglio will be skating to music from Dracula in the this season


Mishin&Co
Instead of Finland Alexei Mishin has apparently chosen to move to USA with his crew, That was one of the reasons as to why Urmanov and Plushenko both re-drew from the Finlandia Trophy last week.


Finlandia Trophy
The winners of the Finlandia Trophy were, in the Ladies Elena Sokolova ahead of the young fellow Russian Viktoria Volchkova. In the Menīs victory went to Dmitri Dmitrenko who after some dissapointing seasons could be on his way back, second was Anthony Liu of Australia. In the Dance The Bulgarians Albena Denkova and Maxim Stviyski came out on top in front of the young russian pair of Oksana Potdykova and Denis Petukhov.

Michelle Kwan
Michelle Kwan will go to skate A for an attemt to win her 4th title in a row. Can anyone make an upset and defeat her? I doubt it!!(Not official yet).


Keri Lotion Figure Skating Classic
The winners of the pro-am event were Todd Eldredge and Michelle Kwan, yes "big" suprise!!!! But what was a big suprise were the second placed skaters in each category, Angela Nikodinov and Michael Weiss. They both defeated European- and Olympic Champions(Petrenko, Kulik, Bonaly, Butyrskaya) into minor places


Zhulin and Grishuk
Alexander Zhulin and Pasha Grishuk have planned to make their debut on the 9th of OCT. They are currently working on their third program after having finished their two first programs.


Grand Slam Event
The winners of the Grand Slam were Michelle Kwan and Todd Eldredge. Congratulations to them.


Candeloro
French showman Philippe Candeloro recently married his girlfriend Olivia Darmon on the ice of Paris Bercy. Among the guests was the french pairs skater Stephane Bernadis who is a close friend of Philippe. The reception was took place at the Paris country club, where tables had been labeled with skating elements. A wedding in true figure skating style.


Grand Slam pro-am competition

Competition news.
The Grand slam pro-am competition will be featuring some of the biggest stars around in figure skating. Skaters like Browning, Kulik, and Eldredge will compete in the mens event, while in the womenīs event Michelle Kwan will return to the ice, her opponents are headed by the former World champion Lu Chen. 25-26 SEP The World team pro-am competition will be strongly entered as well with former olympic champion Alexei Urmanov probably competing for the russian team, the canadians will be represented by Brasseur/Eisler in the pairs, and the Americans will have Meno/Sand in their team. The event takes place 22 OCT


Moving Day
Tamara Moskvina has taken her squad(Bereznaya/Sikharulidze and Kazakova/Dmitriev) to Stamford where they will be preparing for the opcoming season.


Russian Crisis
Russian Alexander Abt made a short comment about the circumstances in Russia right now saying that is was very difficult to live in the country, but he was apple to practice. Former Russian Marina Anissina, who briefly went back to Russia for new costumes also experienced the trobbled times in her native country, she said that people were just struggling for food and that they all were a little out of sink, who can blame them!!!


Ilia Kulik
It finally seems as if Kulik has decided his future plans. This season he will be skating in pro-am events as well as touring with SOI. He will not be skating at Worlds, and Russian Nationals. However he has not rejected that he will come back to amateur competition in the future. This season he will also not have a coach, but will work with different choreographers.


Elvis Stojko
News on Stojkoīs injury, he is said to take part in the Champion Series this year, and the injury seems not to bother him, that much. He has down 3axel, even the quad, but apparently he is still having problems with the loop.


Scott Davis changes his plans
Dan Hollander will replace Scott Davis at Skate America, this is due to Davisīs sudden change in plans, he will no be concentrating on the pro-am events this season.


Yeltsova/Bushkov
Apparantly Marina Yelsova and Andrei Bushkov have not decided whether or not to skate together, he wants to stay eligible while she wants to go pro. Now Yelsova has decided to stay amateur if Bushkov still wants to skate with, if not she will travel across to the USA to find a new partner.


Kazakova/Dmitriev
The Olympic Champions have decided to stay amateur untill 2002 in Salt Lake City, however they will use the ISU sanctioned pro/am competitions.


Bourne/Kraatz
Good News for all canadian and Bourne&Kraatz fans, they will skate this season, something which was in danger after a dispute with the canadian figure skating association.


Pasha Grishuk Pasha Grishuk says in an interview in Germany that she was unaware of the fact that she was being left by Evgeni Platov, furtherly she says that her main priority is still figure skating, but she is however taking acting lesssons to improve her presentation on the ice, she is now going to look for a new partner, she says she is going to meet Alexander Zhulin to talk matters. Zhulin who has been left by Maia Usova who is now skating with Platov. Change of partners???????!!!!

Kulik off to Hollywood! It now seems pretty sure that Kulik is turning pro, after his new agent said that they had big plans for Kulik, he could very well become a movie star.


Kwan doesnīt enter the ISU Series! Michelle Kwan said on a pressconference after her win at the Goodwill Games that she wonīt be taking part in the ISU series, she feels she needs a break.
