The Rams suffered another tough loss against Poughkeepsie on Monday. Coming off a loss and a tie last week, the team didn't come out with any intensity. They started to move the ball, but had trouble keeping possesion and let up a goal about halfway through the first half. Once again, Carmel had plenty of opportunities, but just couldn't convert any chances. Poughkeepsie used the small field to their advantage and found the back of the net three more times before halftime. Luke Shkreli scored Carmel's only goal in the first half. Carmel regrouped at halftime and came out strong in the second half. They continued to have quality chances, but thanks to the keeper and the posts, the ball would just not go in the net. Poughkeepsie scored another goal before Brad Bern and Victor Congionti finished two balls for Carmel and brought the game to within 2. Poughkeepsie was able to capitalize on every Carmel mistake and scored two more times. Luke Shkreli finished off the scoring for Carmel with his sixth goal of the season. Carmel outshot Poughkeepsie and should have been able to walk away with a win, but hopefully they will be able to turn things around and find their game again before the end of the season.
