McNair Returns From Injury; Rides Revenge To Blowout

Montezuma's Revenge was faced with a near must win situation in Week 8, being 2-5 and trailing by 2 1/2 game in the Dewey division to the Bearded Clams entering its game against the 1-5-1 PMS. The Revenge were buoyed by the return of starting QB Steve McNair. McNair and the Revenge started fast when, on the opening drive, he found Lorenzo Neal open for a TD and followed up that score with a TD pass to Eddie George and a short QB draw for a TD. Within a blink of an eye, the Revenge were quickly ahead 14-0. PMS kept it close as Jeff Graham threw a TD pass and Duce Staley ran one in but Marcus Robinson broke their backs with 30 and 52 yard TD catches, finishing the day with 9 catches for 152 yards. That gave the Revenge a 28-10 lead. Two bonus points by Rod Smith for 100 yards receiving, along with 9 kicking points and a Colts special teams score (on a fumble recovery in the end zone for a TD) completed the Revenge scoring. A Vikings touchdown for PMS closed the scoring at 45-20. The Revenge grabbed a much needed win and improved to 3-5 for the year, 1-1 lifetime against PMS, entering its Week 9 game against the Retreads. PMS falls to 1-6-1 and will play the NFC Norris next week.
