Mystics Cruise To 3rd Straight Win By Sticking Fork In Revenge |
The Natural Mystics took an early lead behind a John Kasay FG and never looked back, blowing out Montezuma's Revenge 43-24. Peyton Manning lead the way with 3 TD passes, one of which was to Marvin Harrison again. Wesley Walls and Carl Pickens both had touchdown catches for the Mystics and their defense scored for the 2nd week in a row. Kasay finished with 7 points. The Revenge were led by Marcus Robinson's 8 points. Jason Hanson added 5 and Derrick Alexander had 2 bonus points for the Revenge. The Mystics improve to 8-3 on the season, co-leading the Howe division, and 2-1 lifetime vs. the Revenge. Next week, they'll face PMS. At 4-7, the Revenge are all but mathematically eliminated in the Dewey playoff race. They face a 2 1/2 game deficit with four games to play entering next week's game against Grande To The Party.

One Man Show James Leads Retreads To 7th Win In Row |
Edgerrin James was a one man wrecking crew for the Retreads on Sunday, accounting for 20 points in the Retreads 31-23 victory over the Bearded Clams. James scored twice on the ground and once by air and rushed for over 150 yards in the game. QB Kurt Warner had a quiet day for the Retreads, throwing only one TD pass. Pete Stoyanovich accounted for the other 7 Retread points. The Clams got points from five starters, led by K Olindo Mare's 9 points. Tim Dwight scored on a run when he lined up at RB for a play. Backup QB Jason Garrett threw a TD pass. The difference however was at RB. Both Marshall Faulk and Emmitt Smith had strong running days against defenses that were mostly unable to stop them. Yet, neither one found the endzone despite combining for over 250 yards. The Clams fall to 6-4-1 but still lead the Dewey division by 1 1/2 games entering a Week 12 contest against the Greenback Iguanas. The Retreads improve to 8-3 by winning their seventh straight game and will take on the Palace of Swords next week.

Norris Play Like It's September, Pull Within 1 1/2 In Dewey Race |
Led by the three headed monster of Rickey Watters (20 points), Ricky Williams (12 points) and Brett Favre (7 points) along with 11 kicking points from Jeff Wilkins, the NFC Norris came through with a big Week 11 win in defeating the Palace of Swords 50-32. With the win, the Norris picked up a game on the Bearded Clams who lost on Sunday to the Retreads. They're now 1 1/2 games behind the division leading Clams. The Clams have a difficult schedule over the next couple weeks and the two teams square off face to face in a Week 15 showdown that could be for all the marbles. The Swords were led by K Mike Vanderjagt's 14 points. Dorsey Levens had a TD and 99 yards receiving while new QB Jim Miller threw a TD pass and passed for over 300 yards on the day. Next week, the Norris face the Stanley Steamers while the Swords will play the Retreads.

Dogs Lose On MNF For Second Time In Three Weeks |
For the 2nd time in 3 weeks, the King of Dogs lost a game on Monday Night Football. This time the damage was done by PMS, who came from behind on 14 Jason Elam kicking points and a Rickey Dudley TD catch to win 36-17. PMS was led by QB Marc Brunell who scored 10 points on Sunday night. Jimmy Smith led the Dogs in scoring with 9 points on a TD catch and over 200 yards receiving. New QB Gus Frerotte threw for a TD and K Kris Brown had 4 points. With the loss, the Dogs tied the all-time OFFL record for consecutive losses with 11. PMS improved to 3-7-1 entering its Week 12 game against the Natural Mystics while the 0-11 Dogs will play the Strange Highways, losers of their last three games.

Lizards Deal Blow To Highways; League Best Mark Of 9-2 |
The Greenback Iguanas improved their record to a league best 9-2 while dealing the Strange Highways a possible death blow in its playoff hopes with a 41-23 victory. James Stewart accounted for a pair of TDs while WR Germaine Crowell had a TD and 100 yards. Mike Hollis kicked 11 points while Drew Bledsoe tossed a TD for the Iguanas. The Highways were led by K Brett Conway's 11 points. Isaac Bruce and Sedrick Irvin each scored a TD. However, QB Brad Johnson was shut out for the week. If talking were worth championships, the Highways would already have won the 1999 OFFL title. However, as it is, the Highways lost their 3rd straight game on the year to tumble to 6-5 going into next week's game against the 0-11 King of Dogs. The Iguanas, 9-2, will play the Bearded Clams in Week 12.

Party Keeps Pace With Iguanas In Cheatem Division With Win |
Grande To The Party got just enough scoring to defeat the Stanley Steamers 24-15 in Week 11. With the win, they stayed a single game behind the Greenback Iguanas in the Cheatem division race. They were led by Stephen Davis' 8 points and 6 from David LaFleur and Erricht Rhett. The Steamers failed to call in a lineup and it was too bad since RB J.J. Johnson, an obvious candidate to start would have been worth 8 points while K Todd Peterson would have put the Steamers over the top. As it was, the Steamers were led by Jon Kitna's 8 points. RB Rob Moore scored 6 and K Steve Christie added a single point. The Steamers fall to 3-8 going into a Week 12 game against the NFC Norris while the 8-3 Party will play Montezuma's Revenge next week.
