Swords Cut Into Retreads For 50-25 Victory

The Retreads, having dodged bullets the past two weeks, finally had the law of averages catch up to them in getting blown out by the Palace of Swords 50-25 in Week 4 action. After picking up a 4th QB in Neil O'Donnell led observers to surmise that Coach Pedersen intended to start a Titan QB in Week 4, he selected original starting QB Jeff Garcia. Although the logic could not be ascertained, the decision to start Garcia certainly worked as he scored 16 points for the Swords. Curtis Martin scored 10 and RB Jamal Lewis scored 8 for the Swords. The Retreads failed to crack 30 points for the 3rd straight week. They were led with 6 points each by Kerry Collins, James Stewart (his 1st TD of the year) and Darrell Jackson, a Week 4 pickup. The Ravens D got its 2nd shutout of the season. The Retreads, 3-1, play the Natural Mystics next week while the Swords, 2-2, play PMS.

Dogs Howl With Delight In Ending Revenge Run

The King of Dogs continued to put distance between the 1999 season and 2000 season with another strong showing, this time defeating the previously undefeated Montezuma's Revenge in Week 3 action. Terrell Owens and Jackie Harris led the way with 12 points each. Owens, however, was suspended after the game for taunting after each of his TD receptions and will be unavailable next week. Charlie Garner scored a TD and ran for 206 yards for the Dogs. Marc Brunell and Sebastian Janikowski led the way for the Revenge. Both the Revenge rushing attack and wideouts were shut out for the week. The Revenge, 3-1, will attempt to find their winning ways again in Week 5 against the Bearded Clams.
