Knights Reunite For Iona Showcase
Fixler, Pritzlaff, Viani Spark Offense In Knight's Victory - Iona College - The Lady Knights got together for a late season tournament after a long summer lay off.  In preparation for the weekend a last minute practice was scheduled at the Fixler residence. With 4 girls showing up, a full court game was played between the Knights' quartet (Fixler, Viani, Ravinsky, and Pritzlaff) and their fathers. It was a good practice. The girls ran the court and got tired (maybe not as tired as their fathers) and received a lesson in humility. The dads won both games. Hudson Valley suited 8 players for the game against the 15 year old Lady Knicks. Having beaten an older team earlier in the year and coming off their trip to the nationals, the Lady Knights were not intimidated. Sarah Fixler ignited the offense early with a pair of treys, while Casey Krajeski scored 4 points to give the Hudson Valley team an early lead. As the Lady Knights fell behind, Lisa Pritzlaff came off the bench to score 8 points putting the knights in front once again. Jenna Viani had 5 points on 2 drives to the hoop as the Knights posted a 24 -20 lead at the half. Although the Lady Knights started the second half cold, Jenna Viani ignited the offense with 2 baskets and 2 assists on the fast break scored by Fixler and Pritzlaff. This burst allowed the Knights to open a 34 - 27 lead. The Knicks went on a 7-0 run to tie the game at 34 with 6 minutes remaining. Denise Hunt found Viani inside to beak the tie, and Viani followed with an offensive put back on the next possession. Knights Defeat Gazelles in 2nd Round Action - Preston High School - Having seen the Gazelles win easily the day before, it was obvious that they liked to press and fast break.
