I'd like my friends and donors to know that in addition to my personal commitment to doing the ride, I am self-pledging $500 to each ride.
I am doing this because I believe in the rides.
I also would like to make sure that as much of your money as possible goes directly to helping people with AIDS and HIV and to the scientists who are developing the vaccine. A certain percent of the money for each ride does go to defray the expenses incurred in taking care of the riders. My self-pledge for each ride is my way of doing my best to take care of the necessary cost of staging the ride for me.
