Episode 8

It Starts

Bret’s Confessional:

The weather here has gotten really bad over the past few days. Of course I absolutely love the snow, I can’t get enough of it. I hope it snows really good so we can find a good sledding hill or something so I can push Disco down it. Micks been running around in the yard trying to build a snow fort, of course theres not quite enough snow to do that, but he doesn’t seem to care.

“Man its really coming down out there” Mick says while shaking the snow out of his hair, “the flakes are really huge, there must be about three inches on the ground already.”
“Well I hope it doesn’t get too bad out there, I have a date tonight” Val slicks back his hair as he reaches for his keys.
“What else is new” Disco giggles, “other than these pants I just bought. Like them?”
“How many pairs of obnoxious pants can one man own” Val wonders out loud as he walks out the door.
“Ah yes, riddle filled with mystery and no way to be answered” Mick wanders towards the tv.

Its pretty late when Val finally comes home, hes glad to see Mark still awake and watching tv when he enters the living room.
“Where have you been” Mark asks without turning around, “its not like you to be out this late.”
“My car got stuck in the snow about two blocks from here” Val starts taking off his snow covered clothes, “I had to wade through it all just to get home.”
“Its not that bad out there is it” Mark questions the now half naked Val.
“Have you even looked out the window” Val exclaims, “theres at least two feet of snow on the ground.”
“No kidding” amazed Mark gets off the couch and looks out the glass door to see their lawn furniture buried in the snow. He then goes to the hall closet and grabs his coat.
“What are you doing” Val goes to stop him, “its insane out there.”
“Going for last minute supplies” Mark says as hes walks into the snow out side the door, “trust me we’re going to need it.”

Randy’s Confessional:

I’m so glad Mark has that huge four wheel drive truck. He was able to get out and back with supplies just in time last night. There is now no way anyone can get out of the house now. According to the yard stick that sunk into the snow so that we can’t find it now, theres about four feet of snow on the ground. Bret got out through a window since the doors can’t be opened, and he sunk in real deep so that we had to throw him a rope to get him out.

“Its not stopping!!” Val begins to yell as he hears the weather man say, expect about two more days of snow.
“It has to stop sometime” Randy tries to rationalize with Val.
“Well if it doesn’t I’m going to have to start a tunnel system that leads all over town” Disco laughs.

About an hour later the snow count became over five feet, the guys begin to realize that they are stuck together with no hope of escape for a few days. So to deal with it they all sit down to watch a movie.
“See this isn’t so bad” Randy says nudging Val in the back.
“Yeah” Val gets out just as the power begins to flicker and then goes out, “yeah this is just great...”
