Here is my version of lazyjacks.

I bought some solar screen, the same kind you use for covering your windows in the southwest. ( The screen is 6 ft X 6ft, I should have made it 6 ft X 8ft) Then I ran a seam down both sides wide enough to slip a fiberglass tent pole through. Then I made a bridle out of 1/4 inch line and tied it to the tent poles on each end.

Then I sewed a piece of 1/4 inch line to the center of the screen and ran it back to the end of the boom with a snap hook. This prevents the screen from being pulled forward.

Next I attached some small blocks to the end of the spreaders and run 1/4 inch line through them and back down to a snap hook that snaps onto the bridle.

The other end of the 1/4 inch line goes down and is tied off to the safty line and then back up with a loop tied in it so I can stow the snap hook when not needed. I used riggers tape to secure the loop to the 1/4 inch line so I could use one hand to snap onto it.

Finally once the snap hooks are stowed I wrap the starboard side around the sail and the port side around everything. With a single sail tie bungee I secure it all. It's now ready for the sail cover. When not in use it will double as a bimini, all I need is a frame.
