There may also be a second DaVinci day demo on sunday 7/19 from 2-3. - Finals on Sat. 8/29 at willammette. (4 games, all day). LEAGUE RULES 1) Play with the spirit of the game. Doug dramatically read the preamble to the 9th edition rules (he loves this stuff). Kajsa cut to the chase: play with good sportsmanship, just like in any sport. 2) Games should start by 6:30 (earlier is fine if both teams are ready). If team A is not ready by 6:30, team B may assess points (1 pt/5 minutes) if team B is on the line. No points are to be assessed the first week. Note: if team A has 6 players (including 3 women), they may play short. 3) Games run to 15, with a mirror half-time. Each team has 2 Time-Outs (with an extra TO in overtime). Win by 2, with a hard cap at 17. 4) If one team cannot field 3 women for every point, the other team can ask for a forfeit. Playing short (e.g., with 4 guys and 2 women) is not an alternative to forfeiting. 5) Any rules agreed upon by both captains supersede above rules. LAST YEAR's ISSUES Doug reviewed some issues that arose last year, with the hope that we won't have similar issues arise this year. 1) Communication. Last year, some players were not aware of some basic rules, tournament dates, etc. Please pass this info along to your team. (in an effort to improve communication, i'm sending this to the disclub mailing list). 2) Some women on some teams were not thrown to. Use all your players! 3) Teams not starting on time (this is the reason for rule #2). 4) Teams not fielding 3 women (this is the reason for rule #4). 5) Injuries caused by out-of-control players. Please avoid flagrant fouls, (esp. against players that are smaller than you!) 6) Fighting/arguing. Please play nicely and be friendly. 7) Permits. Ultimate players have reserved Willamette & Garfield every Tu,Wed,Thurs from 6-8:30 all summer. Each captain will get a copy of the permit. IN CONCLUSION Play, have fun, enjoy city league. If any issues arise that you can't work out with the other captain, please mention it to doug. Thanks doug for all your work!
