Help us get Organized!

There are a wide variety of tasks that require organization skills. These jobs are not board positions. Here is a partial list.

Referee Tasks A referee scheduler spends about 6 hours a week scheduling referees to games. The equipment manager keeps track of inventory and makes sure that referees get the equipment they need; time requirement peaks during training periods, then down to 1 or 2 hours a week.

Instructor Both the referee and coaching teams need instructors. To be certified as an instructor you need to “be what you want to teach” and then take a basic instructor’s class. This class is 4 hours long. Once you pass that class, you can be lead instructor. Coach and Referee classes take from 1 to 8 hours to teach, depending on which class is taught.

Registration The registration team needs help entering data into the computer and assisting with the team formation process. The work peaks during the summer before the season starts, and is shared among the team based on how much time you have to donate. Shifts of 2 to 4 hours a week would be greatly appreciated. High speed internet access strongly recommended.

Purchasing Uniforms and other equipment need to be purchased each season to get things going. No money handling is required. This task involves the initial order and “problem solving” follow up orders.

Picture Day Picture day is one of the busiest days of the season. There is a lot of work to go around here. Coordinate the schedule with photographers, distribute information to the teams, and keep the process flowing smoothly and on schedule.

Yearbook The yearbook is one of the highlights of the season for the children! Make sure that pictures from picture day get sent to the yearbook company, collect pictures from the divisions and make a collage, obtain lists of volunteers from various board members so we can thank them in print.

Registration Boothing Coordinate 2 or 3 weekends of registration during the months before the season starts. Get permission from the store to set up in front of their building, obtain materials from the registrar.

Phone Team From time to time we need to contact large numbers of region members to confirm events, collect information, etc. The phone team needs to coordinate these efforts.

Statistician Collect game cards and compute the weekly standings.

Scheduler Generate the game schedule for the region, and interact with other regions to schedule out of region play.

Web Master Manage the web pages, make sure that the information is up to date, and make changes at the request of board members.
