"Love you Grandma"

   My Grandmother and I were . . . are very close.  Her passing leaves a large and empty space in my heart.  This, as one can imagine, is very unexpected and difficult.  Melissa and I are very heart broken to know that she will not be with us to celebrate the birth of our first child.  All of our family will miss Grandma.

    As I have said before, Grandma was everything a grandmother should and could be.  Loving, respectful, proud, reassuring, kind, and of course  . . . a great cook. 

    Whenever I see Grandma, I get the same feeling I did when I was a seven year old.  Her smile made me feel happier and her love moved me to be a better person than even I thought I could.  Grandma loved all her children and grand-children in the same manner.  I cannot remember a time when she did not see any of us in a brighter light than we actually were or should have been.
