She is one of the most stable friends I have. She never allows herself to get into any trouble, she knows what she is doing all the time. In other words, she doesn't need me.
We were never really that close, until about a year ago, when our common friends got into this little feud and both Wendy and I were caught right in the middle of the firing range. We whined to each other about how horrible it is to be caught right in the middle. During that period of time, we could only depend on each other. But other than that, she was really quite different from my other friends, cos I was really used to be treated as an Aunt Agony, offering advice and stuff, but Wendy never needed that. Somehow, she had always thought it through already and nothing I say can change her mind. She has always been a pretty conservative and idealistic person. But, she is not gullible, as she knows how to take care of herself. I wonder why I think so highly of her and why she seems like such a good friend. Perhaps, I feel comfortable just knowing that for once, this is a friend I do not have to worry about. |
