STEELERS GO TO THE BREAK RIGHT SIDE UP!
OUTLAST THE SEAHAWKS 13-10!

This was by far the biggest game the Steelers encountered so far. If the day would have ended in defeat, there would have been 2 long weeks for the doubts to set in.

Instead, the hope for the rest of the season is at an all time high. The fan's finally were treated to Kordell running the football. It was not an outstanding day on his feet,(11 carries, 22 yards) but he was up against a very good Seattle defense. The main thing is that the offense was not nearly as predictable as it had been in previous weeks.

The yards our Quarterback could not pick up on the ground were more than made up for by the Bus. The coaches let him run loose, and he did not disappoint. He inflicted pain on the Seahawks all day long. It was a good change from the Miami fiasco.

I can't say it was the type of game that forgives all evils, but the team is 3-1 at the quarter season mark. The biggest problem was only scoring 6 points off of 4 Seattle turnovers. This is the reason the score was so close. We must also remember that our offensive line was in disarray with the injuries to Woolford and Sweeney. This limited the way the passing game could be utilized, but the running game didn't seem to miss a beat.

It was nice to feel some optimism about where our offense seems to be headed. The 2 week break should give them a little more time to continue the progression.

What can I say about the Defense? They are a spectacle to behold. They are playing as good or better than any other team in the league.

I was hoping our secondary would be respectable this year, but I never imagined they would gel this quick. Flowers continues to deliver the big hits, and Washington and Lake are the "Glues Brothers". They have been sticking on the wide recievers better than contact cement ever could. Actually, it was nice to see something stick to Washingtons hands! He snared his first interception after a number of previous opportunities. Hopefully it is the first of many more.

Bill Cower refused to be too optomistic about the outcome, because he knows they can't continue to win games by the skin of their teeth. But i'm sure that he feels a sense that the team is very close to breaking out. He rewarded the teams efforts with 3 days off.

A well deserved 3 days.
