Yakum FC vs. Tzafririm
A disappointing 1-1 draw for the R&B - the ball just wouldn't go in for FC's strikers.
Continuing on their route of successes, the R&B, unbeaten since the start of the 2nd round were looking to revenge their 1st round loss to Tzafririm. At the beginning, it seemed to be an easy game: FC scored early in the game by Roi C, who received the ball after a great throw-in from David Z, and sent an accurate shot above the goalie and into the left corner - 1-0. The R&B continued to press forward, and created a rainstorm of opportunities, but none of them was taken. Dudu D had had at least 5 of them, but the ball refused to go in. There was only one team on the field in the first half, but FC failed to seize the chance, and the half ended.
The 2nd half started the same as the first ended. The R&B creating chances and missing them clumsily, leaving their crowd frustrated and agonizing, but at least they were ahead, until 10 minutes to the end, when a free kick was given to Tzafririm on the right. The ball was crossed in to Tzafririm's giant striker, and for once, the trick worked: he launched a strong header and Eli could only touch the ball - 1-1.
"We can't even argue that we were unlucky… bad luck could maybe account for half the chances we created - the rest of them are solely our responsibility." Said N. Liron, assistant manager for the R&B, "We had this game to win it, and there is no excuse for such misses, period" added Uzi G, FC's midfielder.
Next week, FC meets Lev-Hasharon, and hopefully, we'll score more than one lousy goal…
