The R&B blow away Rasco. Boom-boom Dudu scores a pair in the 6-2 win.
For the 2nd week in a row, FC is crushing its opponent. This time, it was Rasco's turn to be overwhelmed by the R&B. The previous match between the two teams ended in a 2-1 win after FC scored the winning goal in the last minute; today, it wasn't even close. Refueled with confidence from last week blast against Mishmar, FC took an early lead after only five minutes, when Ran R. (a good game for the captain's younger brother) was brought down in the box. Ilan A. had no trouble scoring the penalty kick: 1-0 for the R&B. Rasco looked a bit dazzled by this goal, and the R&B took advantage of it and five minutes later, issued a pearl for their devoted crowd. The ball was passed to Ran R. on the left wing. The youngster evaluated the situation for a second, and sent an elegant cross to the top of the box, which found the uncovered Ilan A, who launched an enormous volley to the high right corner - a magnificent goal: 2-0 FC. From that point, the R&B didn't look back; just ten minutes later, they scored the third. A penalty kick was ruled in favor of the R&B slightly right to the center, about 20 m' from Rasco's goal - the perfect spot for Roi C. While he was getting set for the kick, Dudu D. was preparing the ambush for the rebound, and indeed; the free kick was deflected by Rasco's goalie, but Boom-Boom was there to score the rebound: 3-0. But the R&B were still hungry, especially Dudu D. who was very active and looked for his second. In the 35th minute, he found what he was looking for. A long ball was sent in his general direction. Boom-Boom raced two defenders, and using his power and stamina, scored his 7th(!) goal in 3 games: 4-0 for the R&B; end of the first half.
It was quite obvious that the R&B will let go a little on the second half, and indeed, they looked a little over confident. The midfield squad held back, leaving Rasco some room. After 10 minutes, Rasco took advantage of a terrible misunderstanding between Gabbi L. and Eli (Goalie) to score: 4-1. For the next 10 minutes or so, it was an even match, and the memories of Michmoret's comeback from the first round (from 4-1 to 4-4, FC winning 5-4 in the end) were creeping back into FC supporters' mind. But the R&B reacted, creating some dangerous attacks, and in the 65th minutes, they were rewarded with their fifth, as Dudu broke the offside trap, and fed Roi C. for an easy score: 5-1. The game was done with, but there was still time for dessert. In the 75th minute, Ilan A. sent a long ball for the fast David Z, who took it to a one on one against Rasco's goalie. He spotted Ohad G. coming with him, and unselfishly set Ohad with delicate touch. Ohad easily scored FC's last for the game: 6-1. Rasco managed to score a final goal in the last minutes of the game to make it 6-2, but who cares… the R&B were celebrating their 2nd consecutive win, and what a pair of wins they were!
In such games, when your offense is slaughtering the opponent, it is easy to forget the hard working defensive players - not this time, however. A big credit is due to FC's Uzi G. who (with the help of Dror C. and Ran R.) literally sealed the midfield, controlled the tempo of the game. Another two players who excelled are David Z. and Eli L. - FC's right winger and right defender who were very efficient in defending as well as creating in the right wing.
Quote of the day: we chose to quote Dror C. who reflected everyone's feeling by saying - "I believe that the way we play now, our position in the table is misleading. We deserve to be higher…" Well… true, but one of the main factors of a good team is stability. Let's see if the R&B can keep it up!
C ya all next week versus Michmoret…
