MISHMAR-HASHARON vs. YAKUM FC

Kicking ass! - FC exploded in Mishmar's face 6-2! Dudu D. with a hat-trick, Ilan A. with a two, and Roi C. with one in FC's first win in the 2nd round.

Harsh weather conditions welcomed the teams. Cold temperatures and rain shower threatened to cancel the match, but it was the R&B's day. The previous match between the two teams ended in a 3-3 draw. Today, it was all FC.

It was obvious from the start - the R&B were up for it. Although the harsh field conditions made it difficult for FC's players to demonstrate their technical superiority, the game was a one way street, and it was not long before Dudu D. put the first into Mishmar's net. The ball was snatched in midfield by Uzi G, who passed it with a touch deep behind Mishmar's defense, sending Dudu to a one on one against Mishmar's goalie. Dudu easily scored his the first goal. FC's midfield ruined Mishmars attempts, especially David Z. who excelled in the first half. It wasn't long before the R&B scored again, via Dudu D, who scored a deep cross from the right - 2:0. The first half ended, but FC was hungry for more...

FC started the 2nd half with a teaser: a free kick was given near the area, and Ilan A. produced an elegant ball into the high left corner to make it 3-0. The R&B self-confidence grew and they started to neglect the defense. A wake-up call was due, and they got just that: an offside trap failed, and Mishmar scored their first. The R&B reaction was fast and painful: Ilan A. scored another goal, Roi C. added one of his own, and it was 5-1: the game was sealed. Mishmar scored yet another goal after Amir R. was day-dreaming with the ball in the penalty area, before Dudu D. (the game's MVP) put the last nail in Mishmar's coffin, completing his own hat-trick - 6:2.

The R&B were on the groove when the ref sounded the final whistle. We chose to quote Dudu D. who said: "we played good football last week against Arazim, and we kept on playing good against Mishmar. I'm happy with my scoring but more delighted with the win." Ziv B, just back from Australia, added: "I'm glad to be back, and with the win. I can only hope that I can fit in the opening line-up."

C ya all next week…
