The soulful group Boyz II Men kicked off WrestleMania 15. They sang a rendition of America The Beautiful, which is a WrestleMania favorite.

Hardcore Title Match: Billy Gunn Vs Al Snow Vs Hardcore Holly

Billy Gunn started off by doing the now famous intro followed by an attack from the J.O.B. squad members. As expected, due to the hardcore nature of the match, the match began with brawling from the three competitors. Al Snow brought out a hockey stick from under the ring and proceeded to use on Gunn and Holly with a broom-stick next to be brought into the match. Head was used on the other two competitors and "instructed" Snow to bring in a table, once again from under the ring. But it backfired on Snow as it was him who met the table, which was put up in the corner. Gunn hit his old rocker dropper on Snow onto a chair. As Gunn made the pin, Holly waffled him with the chair and covered Snow himself to get the pin and become the new Hardcore Champion!

Vinny Pazenzia was the Guest Referee. One of the judges was the hall of famer, Gorilla Monsoon who looked like he had lost a huge amount of weight. The match didn't last long as Butterbean hit Gunn with two main punches in the first round. The last one knocked out Gunn and Butterbean was delighted. Following the match, a feathered chicken walked into the ring and got onto the refs nerves so he gave him a quick jab and layed the chicken out!

To start with, Mankind tried his best to stay on top of the "Big Show" but Wight held him off. As he tried to DDT outside, Wight threw him backward over the steps. Wight continued the punishment until Mr. Socko made an appearance. As he tried to wear down Paul Wight with the mandible, his opponent kept fighting back with heavy blows. After beating up Mankind outside the ring, Wight got two chairs in the ring and proceeded to set them up side by side. He chokeslammed Mankind through them. This resulted in a disqualification, which prompted an appearance from Vinnie Mac. McMahon shouted at the big show and in the end slapped him, which made Wight snap. He knocked out McMahon with a stiff right and left the ring. Afterward backstage, McMahon said he wanted Wight arrested for assault.

After the initial four way battle calmed down it settled down to Shamrock and the Road Dogg. Then the action switched to Goldust and Venis. Meanwhile the Blue Meanie continued to taunt Ryan Shamrock on the outside. After both men were down which nearly made it to 10 a ten count, Goldust tagged in the Road Dogg. The DX member went at with every other competitor in an impressive display. Then Shamrock and Venis were tagged in and Shamrock applied the anklelock, but Venis made it to the ropes. Soon after, the two were both counted out which left the other two to battle it out. Ryan accidentally tripped Goldust and Road Dogg capitalized by pinning Goldust to retain his title. After Goldust apparently dumped Ryan to the Meanie's delight. Backstage, The Big Show was escorted into a police car under arrest.

The chicken attacked Kane before the bell and when unmasked was revealed to be Pete Rose who was tombstoned by Kane last year. After he was tombstoned again by Kane, Rose was helped out of the ring. Triple H then crept up on Kane from behind and took Kane outside where he threw Kane into the steps and into the retaining barriers. After Kane got his composure, he took control in the ring by beating down on Hunter. After going outside again, Kane threw Hunter into the mean street posse, who were at ringside. Kane gave more punishment by using the ring bars. Back in the ring Kane continued the punishment. After Hunter began to fight back, Chyna made her way out to stick her nose in. Kane nailed Hunter with a chokeslam and Chyna picked up a steel chair and asked Kane if she could finish off Hunter. As Kane backed up, she entered the ring and nailed Kane instead! Triple H regained himself and proceeded to smack Kane with the chair. After Chyna and Hunter embraced to DX music as DX were back together. Backstage Kevin Kelly said Mankind was in hospital with injuries form his match earlier. McMahon then announced that as Mankind was injured and in hospital, he himself would later on be the referee in the main event.

Sable came out and started to do her usual routine. When Tori came out, she took control early. Outside the ring and then back inside, Sable kept on top. Then Tori attempted a cross body block and knocked out the ref. Then as Sable went for the sable bomb Tori reversed in an attacked. Then a women entered the ring and press slammed Tori. The women was Nicole Bass. The WWF's latest signing. She told Sable to finish off Tori and Sable did with a sable bomb as Bass left the ring. The ref came to and Sable regained her title.

Shane came out with Test by his side and X-Pac came out on fire. The stooges came out and attacked X-Pac as he came down to the ring. He set them off and came to the ring, which started the match off with a chase. Test kept giving X-Pac cheap shots when the match finally began to the delight of the mean street posse. Shane took control with slaps and knees in the corner. He attempted the Corporate Elbow but it failed. So he got Test's belt and kept whipping X-Pac with it. The mean street posse tried to interfere but X-Pac leveled them all. After a short battle that swung both ways X-Pac got on top of Shane with the broncobuster. But Test continued to interfere which prompted the appearance of Hunter and Chyna and as Chyna distracted the ref, Hunter entered the ring. In a turn of events he pedigreed X-Pac and placed Shane on top of X-Pac. The ref made the count and after the bell Test and Hunter beat on X-Pac. The outlaws came out to help, but were beaten by the corporate duo. Then Kane came out and chased them all away leaving the trio of DX members in the ring and Road Dogg said Hunter was finished.

When the two competitors entered the cell, a brawl ensued between them. Then Bossman handcuffed Undertaker to the cell and busted him open with nightstick shots to the head. But later the handcuffs snapped freeing the Undertaker and let him regain an advantage. He kept throwing Bossman into the cage, which eventually busted him open as well. Later the Undertaker finished off Bosssman with the tombstone. After the match, the Brood absailed down to the top of the ring and after opening the top of the cell, lowered down a noose which Undertaker placed around the neck of the Bossman. Then Paul Bearer used the ring mechanism to raise the cell, which took the Bossman with it. Paramedics (EMTS) helped Bossman out of the ring area.

As McMahon made his way down to the ring to offciate the match, Shawn Micheals also came down and told McMahon that he wasn't qualified to appoint a referee as he himself was the only one able to do that. He told McMahon to get out and warned him that the corporation was barred from ringside. HBK left an official ref in the ring and the competitors made their way out. After the bell the match began at a fast pace. They brawled in the ring, then outside, the ring, then in the crowd and then up the aisle. The lights, retaining barriers and even the big steel WrestleMania logo above the entrance were used as weapons. When the two returned to the ring the Rock tool control and spat water in his face among other things. Then the Rock nailed Austin with the Rock Bottom but Austin kicked out. The Rock brought a steel chair in the ring but Ausin took control of it and went to hit Maivia with it but the Rock put the ref in the way which knocked him out. Another ref entered the fray as the Rock beat on Austin with the chair. After Rock hit Austin in the head with the chair, Austin kicked out once again.The match slowed down a little but quickly picked up again with near falls. Then the Rock gave the ref a Rock Bottom and Austin afterward gave the Rock a stunner. A new ref came in but Rock kicked out of the stunner. Then McMahon came down and distracted Austin and after Rock Low blowed Austin, McMahon knocked out the new ref. Then they doubled teamed Austin but it was short lived as Mankind returned from the hospital. He got rid of McMahon and began to offiacte. After the Rock missed a Corporate Elbow, Austin hit the stunner and Mankind made the count to make Austin the two time WWF Champ! McMahon sat at ring side crying as Austin celebrated in the ring with beers. Earl Hebner joined in the celebrations as McMahon confronted Austin. Austin dragged him into the ring and gave him another beer bath!
