Sunshine and ToniAnn sat outside the office of the federation’s matchmaker, waiting for him to get off of the telephone. They had each been called to see him, and although he didn’t specify what the meeting was about, they had assumed that it was to set- up another defense of their tag team title. Once he finished his call, he waved them into his office. They sat down and he explained what the meeting was about. He informed them that they were each in line for a shot at the singles title, but that there were a few complications. The first was that neither would be allowed to wrestle for the title as long as they held the tag team championship, in other words no one was allowed to be both a tag team champion and a singles champion. Therefore, he posed to them, if either of them were offered a match against the champion Helen, would they be willing to dissolve their tag team. They both paused for a second and answered simultaneously. “YES!” blurted out ToniAnn while Sunshine replied, “No”. Sunshine looked quizzically over at her partner while ToniAnn stared angrily back at her. “It doesn’t matter what she thinks” ToniAnn said pointedly to the matchmaker, “I am dissolving the tag team right here”. Sunshine continued to glance over at ToniAnn, a puzzled look on her face. “What are you talking about?” she asked her now former partner. “I’ve had enough of this tag team crap, it’s time I moved on. I deserve to be the champion on my own and I’m going for it” ToniAnn replied sharply. Sunshine, now annoyed, fired back, “Who says you should be the one? What if I want to wrestle for the championship?”. Both women turned to the matchmaker who smirked at the pleasant dilemma. “Well then I guess we have a problem.” he said to them, “What are we going to do about it?”. ToniAnn abruptly answered his question, “I’ve been carrying her the whole time. It’s obvious I’m the better wrestler. She doesn’t even deserve to be in the same ring with me!”. Sunshine, growing increasingly agitated, shot back, “You carried me? If it wasn’t for me you wouldn’t even be in this federation!”. ToniAnn sneered back at her and answered sarcastically, “well now that I am, it’s obvious I’m better and more popular than you. You don’t deserve to even be wrestling here anymore”. Sunshine stood up and glared down at her. “I could kick your ass and the crowd would love it”. ToniAnn rose to her feet as well, “Okay then prove it. I challenge you to a match, the winner gets to wrestle for the championship, the loser gets thrown out of the federation!”. Sunshine paused for a second and then answered, “Fine” she said, “Set it up!” she ordered the matchmaker before storming out of the room. ToniAnn smiled and turned to the matchmaker. He was grinning from ear to ear. Although unhappy about the losing one of the two girls, he knew that he had a great promotion on his hands. ToniAnn shook his hand and walked out of the room, having accomplished what she set out to do.

Although a wildly successful tag team, both in terms of wins and popularity, their run was over and the impending mach at hand. The date was set for Saturday night, two weeks from the meeting. It promised to be an interesting battle between these two similar and yet distinctly different wrestlers. Sunshine was a beautiful blonde, 5’7” and about 145 lbs. She was a typical “California Girl”, although not from California. She was pursuing a career in modeling and acting, but not having much success. Her looks were not the problem, it had more to do with her lack of brain power. She was very flighty and not overly intelligent. ToniAnn on the other hand was quite the opposite. She was also a gorgeous blonde, although smaller than her ex-partner. She stood only 5’2” and weighed about 115 lbs. Even though she had the looks to be a model, her ambitions lied elsewhere. She was striving to be a successful stock broker and worked hard to get there. She was extremely intelligent and possessed strong analytical abilities. The difference between the two was best punctuated by the way they spent the past weekend. While Sunshine spent the weekend roller-blading in her bikini and soaking up the sun at the local beach, ToniAnn was locked away in a classroom, pursuing her masters degree in financial analysis. In the ring however, they were a great team. ToniAnn was the brains and Sunshine was the brawn. ToniAnn did most of the strategy planning both before and during their matches while Sunshine’s stronger body carried out her wished. ToniAnn was a devastating wrestler, but her smaller size sometimes put her at a disadvantage. Sunshine’s was also a gifted wrestler, but her limited mental capacity sometimes put her at a disadvantage. Despite their individual weaknesses, together the two were an unbeatable team. But this match would prove to be a classic confrontation between brains and brawn, partner against partner and it created quite a stir with not only the fans, but also the other wrestlers. The fans snapped up all of the available tickets within two days, creating the fastest sell-out in the history of the federation. But the commotion it caused the other women wrestlers was even more intriguing. Not only would the tag team tile now be up for grabs, but the loser of the match between the former champions would be out of the fed for good. This created a scramble amongst the other women, causing them to seek out partners and make a bid for the soon to be vacant title.

As the crowd bustled into the arena on the night of the fight, the two principals sat in their locker room and readied themselves for battle. There would be two preliminary matches before theirs, so they each had time to prepare. The preliminary matches went quickly, and before they knew it, both women were called to the ring. Sunshine entered first to a raucous cheer from the capacity crowd. She climbed into the ring and bounced from side to side as the crowd cheered. Sunshine wore the same outfit she had worn as a member of the Golden Girls, a shimmering gold bikini with matching boots. She possessed a healthy looking body, athletic but not muscular, with curves in the right places. Her hair was straight and bleached blonde, falling down past her shoulders. Her face was very pretty, big green eyes and a cute button nose, but she had the blank expression of someone who didn’t spend a great deal of time lost in thought. As the crowd settled back into their seats, ToniAnn made her way to the ring. She received the same ovation as Sunshine, evidence of the popularity of the former tag team. She entered the ring and made her way to her corner, perching herself against the ropes. She wore a yellow bikini with a big sun painted on her butt and a red line drawn through the middle of it in mockery of her opponent. The crowd laughed as ToniAnn bent over and displayed her rear end to her opponent, Sunshine not amused by the prank. She was much smaller than her robust opponent, but a striking woman nonetheless. ToniAnn’s body was much more taut than Sunshine’s with not an ounce of fat on her. Her arms were slightly muscled, but not so much to take away from her femininity. In contrast to Sunshine’s flat but soft belly, ToniAnn’s was tight and rippled. It was apparent that she took great care of her body. Her blonde hair was shorter than her opponent’s, about shoulder length, and she had penetrating brown eyes. One could see why the crowd’s clamored for these two blonde beauties. As the two warriors stretched themselves out, the bell rang and there faces turned serious, each realizing that this could be there last match as a member of this wrestling fed.

They both leaped out of their corners and made their way hastily around the ring in a circular motion. They revolved around the ring once before lunging toward each other and locking arms in the center of the ring. Sunshine used her size advantage to force ToniAnn backward, but the crafty blonde thought quickly and tricked her taller foe. “Watch out” she yelled, ducking as if to avoid something. Sunshine fell for it and ducked as well, but ToniAnn immediately thrust straight up, driving the top of her head into Sunshine’s face. The taller blonde was dazed and ToniAnn took advantage by launching three rapid knees into Sunshine’s smooth stomach. The dizzy blonde moaned and doubled over, wrapping her hands over her face. ToniAnn walked up alongside her and rammed her elbow down into Sunshine’s curved back, knocking her larger foe to the mat. Sunshine dropped hard, but quickly pushed herself back up, ignoring her pain. She got to her feet just as ToniAnn was upon her. ToniAnn grabbed her by the arm, but Sunshine used her superior strength to toss the diminutive blonde in a circle, letting go after a complete revolution. ToniAnn involuntarily raced toward the side ropes, bounced off of them and raced back toward Sunshine who was waiting to clothesline her. ToniAnn alertly ducked beneath Sunshine’s outstretched arm and continued forward, grabbing hold of the ropes and holding herself against them. Sunshine charged over to her and lunged her arms at ToniAnn’s throat, but the spry blonde ducked beneath her, sending Sunshine’s entire upper body forward and dipping over the top rope. ToniAnn, now perched directly beneath Sunshine, propelled herself upright, launching Sunshine’s entire body over the top rope and sending her hurdling outside of the ring. Sunshine flipped over the top rope and toppled downward, crashing to the cold hard floor outside the ring.

The crowd jumped out of their seats as Sunshine curled into a ball, groaning and whining from the impact. ToniAnn stepped through the ropes and stood on the ring apron, directly over her fallen foe. She looked down at her, positioning herself before taking off and landing her foot in Sunshine’s stomach. “UUNNNGGGHHH” yelped Sunshine as ToniAnn stomped on to her midsection before skipping over her and standing directly alongside the battered blonde. ToniAnn then reached down and grabbed a handful of Sunshine’s straight hair and hauled her onto her feet. Sunshine was dazed and her eyes were glazed over as she rose reluctantly, yet forcefully. ToniAnn straightened her up and backed up several steps before running forward, headed for the corner. As she approached, she stepped to the side and hurled Sunshine’s head forward, sending it cracking into the metal support pole outside of the ring. “CLANG”, went the sound of Sunshine’s head striking the pole as she collapsed in a heap in front of it. The crowd cheered and roared as ToniAnn looked down antagonistically at her bewildered opponent. Sunshine’s ears were ringing and her head was clouded. She looked up, but her vision was blurry and she could only hear muffled cheers. ToniAnn scooped her up by the hair and walked her around to the other side of the ring. Standing a few feet away from the corner, she again charged forward and flung Sunshine forward, smashing her head into a different pole. The curvy blonde woman collapsed to the floor, bewildered and reeling as ToniAnn stood over her. She acknowledged the cheers of the bloodthirsty crowd before grabbing her victim by the hair and again hauling her onto her feet. This time she dragged her over to the side of the ring and threw her upper body onto the ring apron. She then leaned down and grabbed Sunshine’s limp legs, lifting them up and tossing them onto the edge of the canvas. ToniAnn then climbed into the ring and grabbed Sunshine’s wrist, dragging her floppy body to the center of the ring before dropping her down and leaving her laying rightside up. She walked into the corner and stood there for a minute, again acknowledging the cheers of the crowd.

ToniAnn was now in complete control. Although there was nothing she would like better than pounding on her opponent some more, she thought the better of it. Her ultimate goal was to win the championship, and beating Sunshine would put her one step closer to accomplishing that. She climbed the ropes, peeking down at her dormant opponent every few seconds to insure that she did not move. Reaching the top rope, she spread her arms and then leaped forward. She aimed her body toward her Sunshine’s, performing a perfect swan dive as she descended upon her. ToniAnn landed across Sunshine’s shoulders, pinning them tightly to the mat as the judge and the rest of the crowd began to count. ToniAnn smiled as they concluded, “7...8...9...10” before the bell rang, signifying the end of the match. ToniAnn leaped to her feet and began her career as the ex-tag team champion, celebrating her first victory as such. Sunshine’s eyes began to well with tears as she realized what had just happened. The crowd roared their approval, not even thinking that this was the last they would see of the pretty blonde who was plastered to the mat.
