City of Cardiff Swimming Club

The National age groups took place at Ponds Forge, Sheffield this year, and we had some excellent results. We had 16 swimmers who qualified for this competition, and 12 who competed in the age groups.

The results are as follows:

* 31 PBs and, 12 finalists & 1 top 8 places in HDW events.

* 4 Gold 1 Silver 0 Bronze

David Davies competed in 6 events. He qualified for 5 finals and won 4 age group titles. His placings were: * 1st in the 100m F/S in a time of 53.38 (PB)

* 2nd in the 200m I.M. in a time of 2:08.99 (PB)

* 200m B/S in a time of 2:29.39 (PB)

* 1st in the 200m F/S in a time of 1:55.26

* 1st in the 400m I.M. in a time of 4:37.78 (PB)

* 1st in the 400m F/S in a time of 4:03.78 (PB)

Paul Senter competed in 6 events. He qualified for 1 final and was placed in the top 8 for the 1,500m(HDW):

* 4th in the 100m F/S in a time of 55.46 (PB)

* 15th in the 50m F/S in a time of 26.22 (PB)

* 25th in the 100m B/C in a time of 1:05.87 (PB)

* 12th in the 400m F/S in a time of 4:20.69

* 9th in the 200m F/S in a time of 2:02.16

* 4th in the 1,500m F/S in a time of 16:51.49 (PB)

Claire Duffy competed in 3 events and qualified for 2 finals:

* 8th in the 50m Fly in a time of 30.03 (PB)

* 15th in the 200m Fly in a time of 2:31.25 (PB)

* 5th in the 100m Fly in a time of 1:06.51 (PB)

Sian Lloyd competed in 5 events, qualifying for 2 finals. Placing were:

* 8th in the 50m Fly in a time of 30.48 (PB)

* 24th in the 100m F/S in a time of 1:03.36 (PB)

* 12th in the 200m Fly in a time of 2:32.52

* 6th in the 100 Fly in a time of 1:07.04 (PB)

* 34th in the 200m F/S in a time of 2:19.47 (PB)

Rhys Jones competed in 1 event. He placed:

* 45th in the 50m F/S in a time of 28.81 (PB)

Daniel Haigh competed in 3 events, qualifying for 1 final placing:

* 10th in the 50m B/S in a time of 32.47 (PB)

* 7th in the 200m B/S in a time of 2:32.55 (PB)

* 11th in the 100m B/S in a time of 1:11.26 (PB)

Kate Holley competed in 2 events, placing:

* 48th in the 50m B/S in a time of 39.14

* 57th in the 50m Fly in a time of 34.10

Lauren Tait competed in 2 events, placing

* 28th in the 100m B/C in a time of 1:11.73

* 35th in the 50m B/C in a time of 33.58

Jon Airey competed in 1 event, placing:

* 79th in the 50m Fly in a time of 32.42 (PB)

Laura Smith competed in 2 events, placing:

* 26th in the 400m F/S in a time of 4:47.20 (PB)

* 30th in the 400m I.M. in a time of 5:36.65

Emily North competed in 2 events and qualified for 1 final:

* 19th in the 100m F/S in a time of 1:01.62 (PB)

* 7th in the 50m F/S in a time of 27.98 (PB)

Catherine North competed in 3 event placing:

* 18th in the 100m F/S in a time of 1:01.41 (PB)

* 10th in the 50m F/S in a time of 28.21 (PB)

* 26th in the 200m F/S in a time of 2:14.86 (PB)
