Club History

The Northern Bullants Football Club was officially adopted as the new title of Preston Knights Football Club (Seniors) at the clubs AGM in November. The Preston Knights Football Club was formerly known at senior level as The Preston Bullants Football club (hence the recent change back to the Bullants monicker), and incorporated the highly successful under 18's Northern Knights teams as the Preston Knights.

Northern/Preston Knights have been one of the most successful clubs in terms of players drafted to AFL level, with 4 players from the club playing in the 1999 AFL Grand Final. The club's under 18's teams also boast the most number of TAC under 18 premierships won by any club.

Last year the club had several players promoted to play with AFL reserves sides in accordance with the club's policy to promote the development of it's players to the highest level possible. With the restructure of the VFL this year the club has a great opportunity to showcase it's talent against the newly introduced AFL reserves sides and hybrid AFLreserves/VFL sides in the competition. Northern Bullants is one of several stand alone clubs providing this opportunity to play at the highest level available for those not on AFL lists.
