NEW YORK NIGHTMARE: Age: 33
Hello out there in Computerland. I'd like to thank you for stopping here and allowing me to tell you a little bit about myself, and my walk with God. First of all I would like to state that my wrestling career would be nothing without Jesus Christ, and I'd like to give Him all the glory for where I am today. He is my strength and my confidence, both in and out of the squared circle. Inside the ring, God provides me first of all with boldness. Without boldness it would be impossible to even step out of the dressing room and be the center of attention in front of a couple of thousand people. God also provides me with strength, endurance, and the athletic ability to compete in each and every match. Outside the ring in my personal life, Jesus Christ is my inspiration and my hero. In a world desperately seeking role models, we sometimes tend to overlook the positive example Jesus has set for all of us. He is my role model. Jesus is the one I want to pattern my life after. When things in my life don't seem to go right, I know I can always turn to Jesus to make everything right again. Proverbs 3:5,6 says. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." This is one of my favorite Scriptures. I found out that when I try to fix matters they usually end up worse, but when I trust in God to make things better, it usually ends up even better than I expected! Praise God! Please allow me to share some of my testimony with you now. As a kid growing up I had to deal with peer pressure and temptations just as many of you are doing right now. I'm happy to say that the Lord kept His hand on me and to this very day I've never touched drugs or alcohol of any kind. Sometimes it is difficult to stand up against the crowd and say or do what is right, but it makes God smile when you stand by Him and don't compromise your principles. I'm not worried about impressing those around me, I'm more concerned with impressing my Lord and Savior! I hope you are too. I have a very important message that I would like to share with those of you old enough to understand this. There are certain things you should stay away from until you are married. God wishes for us to remain abstinent until He joins two of us in marriage. I am very proud to say that at 31 years old I was still a virgin until I got married. Some of you might be thinking that "maybe he just didn't have the opportunity to lose his virginity." Let me tell you this, I went out with a girl for nine years and I loved her very much. I went out with my wife for over 3 years before we got married, and I loved her with all my heart before we were married. There are also many girls around after the wrestling matches, but I choose not to be tempted by them. The opportunities to stumble and fall have been there. I've just had to be strong. It's not my strength that holds me though, it is Christ's. Philippians 4:13 states, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I try my best to live by that. Whenever I am tempted, I remember how Jesus suffered and died on the cross for me. He also did it for you. Nails didn't hold Jesus to the cross: love did. I want to love Him as much as He loves me. I pray that you do as well. If any of you have never asked Jesus into your life, but you are ready and willing for Him to come and you want to be sure that once you leave this life you will be with Him in heaven, please repeat the following prayer: Lord Jesus I need you. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. I open my heart and my life and receive you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of all of my life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be. Amen. I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank Mom, Dad, and especially God for being the three people I have been able to count on my whole life. God Bless each and everyone of you, The New York Nightmare |
