Dear Editor,
In August 2005 games section, Shams - Dinakaran game is given as 0-1, but when I went through the game, it seems it should be 1-0. Your heading comments also confirm that.

The error is regretted.
We also received from Umesh Nair a suggestion to incorporate cross tables of AICCF tournaments on our web page. In fact Umesh has written a Perl script (computer program) which can automate this task. He has been in touch with our tournament directors regarding his suggestion. On considering the matter, we find that cross tables in the required format are already being maintained and we propose to go ahead with Umesh Nair’s suggestion to incorporate cross tables of AICCF tournaments on our web page.
Shri P.B. Dhanish pb_dhanish@yahoo.co.in writes that he has difficulty in reading the web versions of the Bulletin. Presently we have been putting up the bulletins at the web site for online viewing. Apparently, for those with slow/ expensive internet connections it becomes cumbersome to browse and he suggests PDF (Acrobat) files which could be downloaded for offline viewing. The html files don’t work nicely offline because of the pop-up ads at the free geocities site. We need a feedback from our readers about their preference in this matter. With PDF, online viewing would become less friendly (even with Acrobat Reader installed) as the large file would load very slowly. The PDF file even for a black and white version would be about 1.25 MB. For the present we are happy to send the PDF file by email to anyone who requests it.
Dear Editor,
Please refer to page 40 of AICCF Feb 2005 Bulletin. In the next Bulletin could you please print the concerned cross tables of ICCF World Cup x to xii.

We are giving the cross table for the ICCF World Cup 10 elsewhere this issue –Ed.
Alan Rawlings (England) wrote a very nice letter praising the online issue of the August Bulletin. He asked for a proxy in favour of confirming the AICCF Management Committee as elected at the AGM. In addition he also asked Dr. Alok Saxena about the possibility of starting an ICCF event in memory of Late H.J.Samtani in which he was prepared to act as TD. We contacted AICCF Champion S.K.Somani to enquire if he was prepared to play in such a tournament but as he is already busy with ongoing tournaments we did not receive a positive response.
The following email about the May 2005 Bulletin was received too late to appear in the August 2005 issue. We print it now:
Dear Editor,
The AICCF Bulletin, May 2005 has a new feel and the formatting is both attractive and convenient. The new games editor Anil Anand has done a truly commendable job. The games have been chosen with care and presented with panache. I liked the comments and annotations which were at once pithy and insightful.
The sketches of Pillsbury the tragic hero and "draw master" Sclechter were heart warming. Truly, these past masters are such an inspiration for us in the present day.
What does one say of Kasparov? The best chess player who ever practiced the craft? Undoubtedly. But also, a bitter man at the end - tired and frustrated of waiting for the Great Unification Battle. Even his politics smacks of a deep and underlying frustration that seems to be eating, like acid, into his soul. I am looking forward with eager anticipation though, to his forthcoming works - My great Predecessors and How Life Imitates Chess. Like Bobby Fisher's Magnum Opus, Kasparov's writings too are likely to reflect the coruscating brilliance that he displayed on the chess board. May be they will do more than that - may be they will acquire for him the status of a modern day thinker and philosopher - an accolade that Kasparov would dearly, dearly love!
For the time being, however, it's cheers to the fact that you have dunked the idea of going bi-annual. A quarter is the most one can wait for the AICCF Bulletin to warm the cockles of the heart! Keep up the good work!
