Midget A 'Grounds' the Flyers Flames outlast Santa Clara

No one can accuse the Midget A Flames of being
procrastinators. Scoring their three goals in the
first period, Neumann and Co. went to work dis-
manteling a tough Santa Clara offense in a 3-2
win over the Flyers.
John Yuen led off the scoring early in the first
period, wristing on in over the goalie's glove hand.
The score remained 1-0 until, with 1:31 left in the
period, Adam LaMarche popped one in. Less than
a minute later, Alex Shragg sealed the Flyers fate
with his goal. The Flyers mounted a rally late in the
third period with two goals in the last 3 minutes
but the Flames defense held on for the win.
Justin Stanley picked up an assist, as did John
Yuen and Joe Kistler.

Flames Squirt B "Collar" Berkley Bulldogs

Team effort ousts "the dogs"--

Cooper Hale scored two goals and had an assist in
Saturday''s 4-2 victory over the visiting Berkley Bulldogs.
Casey Carpenter led off with a goal in the first
period followed by a JJ Kreysa score early in the
2nd. The Bulldogs responded with goals in the
2nd period but Hale's goal at 11:37 in the 2nd
period put the lid on the Bulldogs. Excellent defense
and solid team play led to the win with all players
contributing mightily in the effort. Raymond Gsell
picked up an assist in the win.

Midget B..Breaking 'em down

'You're hurtin me with that music', Neil Dixon
complained to the announcer. After the game
the Flyers were complaining that Dixon was "hurtin
em" with his tough play and goal scoring in the
Flames 2-1 win ove the tough Santa Clara Flyers.
Clearly a defensive battle from the start, there
was no scoring until the 2nd period when the
Flyers drew their 1st blood early on. Then Dixon
and his linemate, the incorragible DJ Corrigan
teamed up to pop one in with 5:55 left in the
period.
Tied up, DJ, with the help of Neil and Gavin Real
strongarmed the winning goal with 13;40 left in the
3rd period.
