Throughout the next two days you will complete the following assignments.  You will eventually present your assignments to the class.  Make sure to do a thorough job!

 

Assignment # 1- answer the following questions from the link below and be ready to report your findings to the class.

Assignment # 2- pick any three quotes from the two pages below.  Your quotes should be from the southern point of view.  For each quote, draw a picture or find a picture that would portray what is being said in the quote.  Attach the quote to the front or back of the picture.

Assignment # 3- go to the following link that has photographs of the Antietam battlefield.  Counting from left to right, print the pictures 21-25.  Next, create a new title or caption for the photograph.  Attach the new title to the photograph.  Preferably on the front above or below the photograph.

Assignment # 4- go to the following link and pick one of the artillery quotes.  Create or find a picture that portrays the quote.  Do not use a picture from the same page with the quotes.  Attach a copy of the quote to the picture.

Assignment # 9- go to the link below to see modern pictures of the Antietam Battlefield.  Compare the modern pictures to those taken in 1862 by Alexander Gardner.  Create a picture for the preservation of the Antietam battlefield by using an old and a modern picture.  You should have a title or caption to explain your picture.  I have included the link to the Garner photos below as well.

Assignment # 10- your group will create a display that will chronicle the information that you have learned doing the Internet project.  The display should have pictures, quotes, and information that your team puts together.  You can also include maps, charts, or anything else that you think would make your display effective.  These will be presented to the class for a grade.  You will receive 150 points for the actual Internet assignment and 100 points for the display.  We will work on the display in class after we finish our two days in the media center.
