The weekend round of the American Soccer League games finds Bethlehem on the top of the league standing with a comfortable margin in the percentage column and also a substantial point lead. The Bethlehems went through their weekend schedule with victories in both games.
Significant in the results of the weekend games is the apparent equality of the majority of the teams. This is indicated most emphatically in the Saturday games, when tie scores resulted in four of the six contests. Bethlehem stands out as the best team in the circuit by virtue of its excellent showing to date. The local clan are the only team in the circuit that has not yet been defeated.
Bethlehem to date has met all but a few of the clubs in the circuit and has shown class in every game. There were two draw games, one of which was against Fall River, but even then when forced to share the points the Bethlehems had the edge throughout the contest. The general impression of this year's makeup, gleaned from the various gossip heard, is that the Bethlehem machine is the strongest in the history of soccer in Bethlehem.
