NEW BEDFORD PLAYS HERE ON SATURDAY
Steelmen Playing the Same Soccer Team at Tiverton This Afternoon
DECIDING SECOND PLACE

After the Steelmen conclude with New Bedford in the game played at Tiverton, R. I., this afternoon, in which second place position for the first half of the American Soccer League will be determined, the Bethlehem Steel Soccer Club will hurry home to prepare for the visit of the same foemen to the local lot on Saturday afternoon.

Thus far in the second half schedule, New Bedford is the most formidable club in the circuit, topping the league standing with an undefeated record and with four straight victories already tucked away.

The offensive strength of New Bedford team, as well as its strong defense is indicated by the goal scoring record for and against the team. In topping the goal scoring with a total of fourteen or an average of three and one-half goals for each game played. Defensively the club has allowed only four goals to be scored against it.

The strength of a club, regardless of position in standing, can best be gleaned by the above statistics. Bethlehem, on the other hand in third position with two victories and one defeat, scored eight goals in the three games and had six scored against it.
