No1 MkV
20,000 of these rifles were produced between 1922 and 1924. They were designed as troop trials rifles to test the receiver mounted rear sight. They have a folding rear sight graduated for 200-1400 yards which can be folded to a fixed battle sight. They utilize the P1907 bayonet. No long range sights were used althought they were originally supplied with magazine cutoff. according to Skennerton they were serialized from 1 to 9999 then start over again with an A prefix. You will notice from the picture that the upper handguard is full lenght and lacks the cutout for the barrel mounted rear sight.
